Role Summary
We are looking for a senior, hands-on electronics hardware engineer to own PCBA fault analysis, component-level repair and rework, hardware testing, RF and wiring/harness work, and R&D; and production support. You will work in the lab and on the bench, taking products from prototype through validation, testing and failure analysis to a reliable, production-ready build. You should be equally comfortable debugging a multilayer board with a scope, reworking fine-pitch BGAs, building a harness to IPC/WHMA-A-620, and writing the documentation that goes with it.
Key Responsibilities
1. PCBA Fault Analysis & Troubleshooting
- Perform component-level fault diagnosis on analog, digital and power (SMPS) boards, including motherboards
- Interpret schematics and circuit diagrams to identify root causes and carry out corrective rework
- Repair and rework multilayer and high-density PCBs, including micro-level component replacement
2. Soldering & Rework
- Hand solder and rework through-hole and SMD components, including BGA, FBGA, QFN, QFP, PLCC, SOIC, SOP and 0402/0201 passives
- Work with fine-pitch and micro connectors (Nano-D, FPC, D-sub) on high-density boards
- Maintain IPC-A-610 workmanship standards and ESD-safe practices at all times
3. Testing, Validation & Test Methods
- Test and verify boards and assemblies using DMM, MSO/DSO, DC power supplies, signal generators, spectrum analyzers and ESA
- Carry out PCB-level testing, quality inspection and verification
- Set up and run FCT, ICT, flying probe (FPT) and ATE-style test procedures
- Flash firmware and run post-programming functional tests on microcontroller-based boards
4. RF & Communication Systems
- Test and troubleshoot RF assemblies using spectrum analyzers,
RF signal generators and GSM testers
- Configure, integrate and troubleshoot fiber optic media converters
- Install and configure DVR/NVR, CCTV and network systems
5. Wiring, Harness & Mechanical Assembly
- Route cables and build harnesses to IPC/WHMA-A-620
- Crimp and assemble connectors (IDC, D-sub, RF, Molex, Amphenol, RMC, FPC)
- Assemble and wire racks, sub-racks and enclosures, including beading and cable assembly
- Assemble, weld and integrate battery packs with BMS
6. R&D;, NPI & Production Support
- Support product design, prototype builds, tooling and validation in R&D; labs
- Support the transition of products from NPI to production, and resolve production-floor hardware issues
- Plan production, inventory and stock against the BOM
7. Failure Analysis (RCA / CAPA)
- Analyse field and production failures and document root causes
- Define, implement and track corrective and preventive actions
8. PCB Design Exposure & Documentation
- Work with schematic capture and PCB layout using OrCAD, KiCad and AutoCAD
- Prepare and maintain BOMs, test reports, work instructions and technical documentation
- Maintain records and traceability using Excel, Word, JIRA, SAP, MES and ERP tools
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Electronics / EEE / ECE (ITI plus strong relevant experience may be considered)
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in electronics R&D;, hardware support or production
- Proven fine-pitch SMD and BGA/QFN rework skills on multilayer boards (a soldering test is part of selection)
- Strong schematic reading and component-level fault-finding ability
- Proficiency with MSO/DSO, spectrum analyzers, SMPS and bench power equipment
- Hands-on RF testing experience (spectrum analyzer, RF signal generator, GSM tester)
- Harness, crimping and wiring experience to IPC/WHMA-A-620; working knowledge of IPC-A-610
- Experience in PCB-level testing, FCT/ICT/FPT/ATE methods and ESD safety
- Experience preparing BOMs and technical documentation
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word and at least one of JIRA, SAP, MES or ERP
Strongly Preferred Skills
- Battery pack assembly, welding and BMS integration
- Fiber optic media converters, DVR/NVR, CCTV and network installation
- PCB design software: OrCAD, KiCad, AutoCAD
- Underwater, marine, aerospace, defence, elevator or other high-reliability electronics experience
- Experience with data acquisition systems (e.g. NI DAQ) and sensor integration
- Microcontroller flashing and post-programming functional testing
- Production planning, inventory and stock management
- Exposure to microwave/antenna, 5G, X-band or wireless projects
Behavioural Competencies
- Robust analytical and root-cause thinking
- Ownership and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Clear written and verbal communication with design, quality and production teams
- Discipline around safety, ESD, regularity and quality standards
Pay: ₹430,000.00 - ₹450,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Paid time off
Work Location: In person
