# JOB DESCRIPTION – DRAFTSMAN / DESIGN DRAFTSMAN

1. Job Summary We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented **Draftsman / Design Draftsman** to prepare accurate technical drawings, plant layouts, fabrication drawings, equipment drawings and 2D/3D models for **Biogas, Bio-CNG/CBG and industrial EPC projects**. The candidate will work closely with the Engineering, Production, Procurement and Project teams to convert engineering concepts, sketches and specifications into detailed drawings suitable for **manufacturing, fabrication, erection and site execution**. ## 2. Key Responsibilities - Prepare detailed **2D and 3D technical drawings** as per engineering requirements. - Prepare **GA (General Arrangement) drawings**. - Prepare equipment, structural, piping and plant layout drawings. - Prepare detailed **fabrication and manufacturing drawings**. - Prepare assembly and component drawings. - Develop drawings for tanks, vessels, pipelines, pipe supports, platforms, structures and other plant components. - Prepare **P&ID; and piping layout drawings** as required. - Prepare drawings with proper dimensions, material specifications, welding details and technical notes. - Develop 3D models of equipment, components and plant systems. - Modify drawings based on engineering, production and site requirements. - Coordinate with engineers and fabrication teams to resolve drawing-related issues. - Review drawings for dimensions, specifications, tolerances and accuracy before release. - Maintain proper **drawing revision control and document records**. - Prepare **As-Built Drawings** based on site modifications. - Assist in preparation of drawings for quotations, DPRs and project execution. - Prepare and update **BOM/MTO** wherever required. - Coordinate with site teams and incorporate approved changes into drawings. - Ensure drawings are prepared according to applicable engineering standards and company requirements. # 3. Software Skills ### A. Mandatory Software The candidate should have good working knowledge of: 1.



**AutoCAD 2D** – Advanced/Proficient 2. **AutoCAD 3D** – Basic to Intermediate 3. **MS Excel** – Basic to Intermediate 4. **MS Word** – Basic working knowledge ### B. Preferred Software Knowledge of the following will be an advantage: 5. **AutoCAD Plant 3D** – Plant layout and piping design 6. **AutoCAD P&ID;** – Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams 7. **SolidWorks** – 3D mechanical design and equipment modelling 8. **Autodesk Inventor** – 3D mechanical design and assemblies 9. **Solid Edge** – Mechanical design and fabrication 10. **Revit / Revit MEP** – BIM and MEP drawings 11. **SketchUp** – 3D plant/site visualization 12. **Navisworks** – 3D model coordination and project review ### C. Additional Advantage Knowledge of any of the following will be an added advantage: - **Tekla Structures** – Structural steel detailing and fabrication - **STAAD.Pro** – Structural analysis and design - **AVEVA E3D / PDMS** – 3D plant design - **CADWorx** – Piping and plant design - **CATIA** – Advanced 3D mechanical design - **Creo** – Mechanical/product design - **EPLAN** – Electrical drawings and schematics - **ETAP** – Electrical system analysis - **Civil 3D** – Civil/site development drawings - **MS Project / Primavera P6** – Basic project planning > **Note:** The candidate is not required to know every software listed above. Robust proficiency in **AutoCAD**, along with knowledge of **Plant 3D / P&ID; and SolidWorks**, will be preferred. # 4. Technical Knowledge The candidate should have knowledge of: - Mechanical and industrial drawings - Fabrication drawings - Plant layouts - Piping layouts - Equipment layouts - Tank and vessel drawings - GA drawings - Assembly drawings - Welding symbols - Basic GD&T; / dimensional tolerances - BOM / MTO preparation - Engineering drawing standards - Basic knowledge of materials and fabrication processes - Reading engineering drawings and engineering sketches - Basic understanding of industrial plant construction and fabrication # 5. Industry Experience – Preferred Experience in any of the following industries will be an advantage: - Biogas / Bio-CNG / CBG plants - EPC projects - Industrial fabrication - Chemical / Process plants - Dairy / Food processing plants - Sugar / Distillery projects - Piping and structural fabrication - Industrial equipment manufacturing - Renewable energy projects # 6. Required Skills - Strong technical drawing skills - Good knowledge of CAD software - High attention to detail and accuracy - Ability to understand engineering concepts and sketches - Good visualization and 3D modelling ability - Good coordination and communication skills - Ability to work under project deadlines - Ability to handle drawing revisions independently - Problem-solving ability - Teamwork and coordination skills # 7. Reporting To **Design / Engineering Manager** # 8. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - Drawing accuracy - Timely completion of drawings - Number of drawing errors/revisions - Compliance with engineering requirements - Quality of fabrication drawings - Proper drawing revision control - Coordination with engineering, production and project teams - Timely submission of drawings for project execution - Proper documentation of drawings and technical records # 9. Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should be capable of independently preparing **2D/3D mechanical, fabrication, piping and plant layout drawings** and should be comfortable coordinating with engineers, production personnel and project/site teams. Candidates having experience in **Biogas, Bio-CNG/CBG, EPC, industrial fabrication, piping or process plants** will be preferred. # 10. Key Software Requirement for Recruitment **Must Have:** AutoCAD 2D + AutoCAD 3D + MS Excel **Preferred:** AutoCAD Plant 3D + AutoCAD P&ID; + SolidWorks **Added Advantage:** Inventor / Solid Edge / Revit / SketchUp / Tekla / Navisworks / AVEVA E3D / CADWorx / STAAD.Pro / Civil 3D / EPLAN

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
