About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and innovative CAD Design Engineer to join our engineering team and contribute to the development of deep-tech aerospace and turbomachinery products.

The role involves 3D modelling, detailed engineering design, assembly development, and preparation of manufacturing drawings for advanced mechanical and aerospace systems. The ideal candidate should have strong CAD skills, a good understanding of mechanical engineering principles, and the ability to translate engineering concepts into practical, manufacturable designs.

We value engineers who take ownership of their work, think creatively, solve problems independently, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop detailed 3D CAD models of aerospace components, mechanical systems, and assemblies using SolidWorks or PTC Creo.
- Prepare accurate 2D engineering drawings, manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Convert conceptual designs and engineering requirements into detailed, manufacturable CAD models.
- Design components and assemblies considering functionality, manufacturability, assembly, maintenance, and weight optimisation.
- Apply appropriate geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;), fits, clearances, and engineering drawing standards.
- Perform design iterations based on structural analysis, CFD, rotordynamics, manufacturing feedback, and testing results.
- Collaborate with structural analysis, CFD, rotordynamics, manufacturing, and testing teams to develop integrated engineering solutions.
- Support prototype development, manufacturing queries,

assembly trials, and design validation.
- Maintain drawing accuracy, model integrity, revision control, and engineering documentation.
- Take ownership of assigned design activities and ensure timely delivery of high-quality engineering outputs.

Required Skills and Experience

- Approximately 3 years of experience in mechanical CAD design and engineering.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or PTC Creo for 3D part modelling, assembly modelling, and 2D drawing creation.
- Good understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, including materials, manufacturing processes, fits, tolerances, and assembly principles.
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications and translate them into practical designs.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, GD&T;, and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and a systematic approach to design.
- Good problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Skills

- B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience designing aerospace components, turbomachinery, rotating equipment, precision mechanical systems, or complex assemblies.
- Knowledge of machining, sheet metal fabrication, casting, additive manufacturing, and other relevant manufacturing processes.
- Experience with parametric modelling, design configurations, large assemblies,

and CAD design automation.
- Familiarity with finite element analysis tools such as ANSYS or NASTRAN, or experience working closely with structural analysis engineers.
- Understanding of design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA), weight reduction, and design optimisation.
- Exposure to prototype development, inspection, and engineering validation.

Desired Personal Attributes

We are looking for individuals who demonstrate:

- Ownership: Take responsibility for design tasks from initial concept through detailed design and release.
- Innovation: Develop creative, practical solutions to challenging engineering problems.
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively with engineers across design, analysis, manufacturing, and testing.
- Learning agility: Show enthusiasm for learning new technologies, CAD techniques, and engineering methods.
- Attention to detail: Maintain high standards of dimensional accuracy, drawing quality, and design documentation.
- Execution focus: Deliver robust, manufacturable designs within agreed timelines.
- Technical integrity: Question assumptions, seek feedback, and continuously improve design quality.

What We Offer

- The prospect to contribute to advanced, deep-tech aerospace and turbomachinery products.
- Hands-on involvement in product development, from conceptual design to manufacturing and testing.
- Exposure to complex mechanical systems and challenging precision engineering applications.
- Collaboration with experienced engineers across CAD, structural analysis, CFD, and rotordynamics.
- An setting that encourages innovation,
