Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Dynamics 365 Business Central Engineer with solid hands-on experience in D365 Business Central/NAV development, AL programming, extensions, integrations, and technical solution delivery.

The role involves developing and supporting Business Central solutions, integrating the platform with external applications and workflow systems, contributing to upgrades and performance improvements, and working closely with business and technical stakeholders.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working across the complete development lifecycle and should have practical experience troubleshooting Business Central environments using telemetry, SQL, APIs, and contemporary development/DevOps tools.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, customise, and extend Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central solutions using AL and the extension model.
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
- Work closely with functional consultants, business stakeholders, QA, and other engineering teams to deliver Business Central solutions.
- Develop and maintain integrations between Business Central and third-party applications using REST/SOAP APIs, OData, web services, and JSON/XML.
- Participate in the complete solution lifecycle, including development, unit testing, deployment, production support, and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot application and integration issues and use Business Central telemetry to identify operational and performance-related problems.




- Support Business Central upgrades, enhancements, performance tuning, and system maintenance.
- Work with SQL Server/T-SQL for data validation, troubleshooting, reporting, and performance analysis.
- Maintain technical documentation, development standards, source control, and deployment processes.
- Work with Git, Visual Studio Code, Docker, PowerShell, and Azure DevOps/CI/CD pipelines where required.
- Collaborate with Power Platform teams and leverage Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI for business process automation and reporting.
- Support Business Central integrations with external workflow and operational systems.

Business Central Domain & Integration Responsibilities

This role requires exposure to Business Central-specific workflows and integrations, including:

- Postal-related workflows within Business Central.
- Integration with Android applications, BenchQ, myPostQ, and Royal Mail OBA.
- Business Central AIMI and specific App ID MI reporting.
- Supporting options that enable Client Services teams to self-manage report configuration.
- Event-based integration with external workflow partner systems such as OnePlatform and JCMS.
- Integration between Business Central Operations and Business Central Finance.
- Supporting reporting requirements using Power BI, SSRS, Word layouts,



and Excel integration.

What We’re Looking For

- 6+ years of overall experience with strong hands-on experience in Dynamics 365 Business Central / Dynamics NAV.
- Minimum 5 years of development experience with AL and/or C/AL.
- Strong understanding of Business Central architecture, extensions, events, APIs, and integration patterns.
- Experience developing integrations between Business Central and external applications.
- Strong understanding of SQL Server and T-SQL.
- Hands-on experience with Visual Studio Code and AL development.
- Good understanding of source control and modern development practices.
- Experience with Power Platform is preferred.
- Experience with telemetry-based troubleshooting and performance analysis.
- Exposure to Azure DevOps and CI/CD is advantageous.
- Experience in Postal workflows, Royal Mail OBA, BenchQ, myPostQ, OnePlatform, JCMS, AIMI/MI reporting, or similar Business Central operational integrations would be highly relevant.
