Job Description

The JustJobs Network (JJN) seeks applications from qualified candidates for the position of Chief Operating Officer, based in New Delhi.

JJN is an applied research organisation working on one of the most pressing challenges of our time: how to promote more and better work in a rapidly changing 21st-century economy. We produce actionable research on valuable job creation, workforce development, and labour market governance. As forces like climate change, the energy transition, technological advancement and trade shocks disrupt labour markets, JJN goes beyond large-scale macroeconomic analysis, bringing grounded research on how these dynamics unfold across different ecologies, geographies, and economic contexts.

We work with multilateral institutions, national, state and local governments, and civil society and grassroots organisations to ground policy and practice in evidence. We convene a global network of policymakers, academics, business and grassroots leaders to amplify the impact of our research, forging a agile channel for policy dialogue on employment at local, national, regional, and international levels.

Unlike more traditional research organisations, JJN brings data to life through stories, lived experiences, and on-the-ground realities driving a systemic shift toward stronger, more inclusive labour markets and economies.

Role Overview

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a core member of JJN’s leadership team, responsible for building and running the organisational backbone that supports JJN’s mission, research and impact. - Develop strategies to attract and retain robust talent helping craft a strong performance and development strategy for the organisation and its employees.
- Institute internal systems that help the organisation function smoothly assessing everything from the technology architecture, security, and document management to financial processes and recordkeeping to preserve organisational memory.
- Support the leadership team in fundraising and the engagement strategy for the board and advisory group.

- Demonstrate strong leadership, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced environment. Partner with the Executive Director and the leadership team to align operations with JJN’s broader objectives, and support strategic guidance on organisational growth and governance.

Skills Required

- 15+ years of professional experience in operations, human resources, organisational management, or a related field, ideally including experience in a non-profit, research, or mission-driven organisation
