Description

Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of plant machinery and mechanical equipment. Maintain and troubleshoot reactors, centrifuges, agitated nutsche filter dryers (ANFDs), dryers, condensers, heat exchangers, pumps, and vacuum pumps. Handle maintenance of utility systems, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, thermic fluid heaters, and compressed air systems. Monitor and maintain pipelines, valves, gearboxes, mechanical seals, and agitator assemblies. Coordinate equipment installation, commissioning, and equipment qualification activities. Prepare preventive maintenance schedules, breakdown reports, and equipment history records. Ensure compliance with GMP, EHS, and plant safety procedures. Support calibration and qualification teams during equipment qualification and validation activities. Coordinate with production, quality assurance (QA), quality control (QC), and utility departments. Maintain spare-parts inventory and coordinate with vendors for repairs and procurement. Support shutdown maintenance, root-cause analysis, and reliability improvement activities. 2.



Required Technical Skills Knowledge of mechanical equipment used in API manufacturing plants. Understanding of pumps, reactors, agitators, centrifuges, dryers, and heat exchangers. Knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance. Familiarity with piping systems, valves, mechanical seals, and bearings. Understanding of GMP documentation and valuable engineering practices. Knowledge of safety requirements for handling flammable solvents and hazardous process equipment. 3. Preferred Qualifications Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering. Experience in pharmaceutical API, bulk drug, chemical, or fine chemical manufacturing. Knowledge of GMP requirements, permit-to-work systems, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and equipment maintenance documentation. Experience with SAP PM or other computerized maintenance management systems is an advantage. 4. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Reduction in equipment breakdowns and downtime. Completion of preventive maintenance within scheduled timelines. Improvement in equipment reliability and availability. Compliance with safety and GMP requirements.
