Karjat

Lead the academic and industry development of the MSc Sports Management programme of a reputed French Institution's India project, in association with a leading educational institutional group, so that it becomes known for practice-led learning, strong employer relationships and graduates who are ready to contribute.

You will work with the institution's colleagues, visiting faculty and industry practitioners to design a distinctive, globally informed and India-relevant learning experience.

What you will lead

1. Build a curriculum shaped by the industry: Translate emerging industry needs into course outcomes, applied assignments and demonstrable student competencies. Keep the curriculum current across sports business strategy, event design and delivery, sponsorship and partnerships, marketing and sales, media and content, fan experience, sports finance, governance and law, analytics, technology, sustainability and inclusion. Use live industry briefs, simulations, case clinics, site visits, field assignments and capstone projects—not lectures alone. Create a practical skills map for the programme: what every graduate should be able to analyse, plan, negotiate, execute, measure and communicate. Work within KEDGE’s academic quality requirements while ensuring that teaching remains relevant to India’s market and internationally transferable.

2. Build partnerships that create student opportunity

- Develop a purposeful network across leagues, teams and clubs, sports federations, event promoters, venues, sponsors, broadcasters, sports-marketing agencies, athlete-management firms, sports-tech companies, fitness businesses and relevant public bodies.
- Convert relationships into tangible activity: practitioner-led sessions, company projects, internships, mentoring, field visits, recruitment conversations and jointly designed learning challenges. Build a small number of deep, active partnerships rather than a long list of ceremonial MoUs.

Bring senior practitioners into programme governance and use their feedback to improve curriculum, student readiness and employer confidence.

3. Make learning experiential and professionally demanding

- Set up projects in which students work on real questions—such as sponsor activation, event economics, audience growth, ticketing, venue utilisation, community participation or digital fan engagement.

- Coach students to deliver professional outputs: commercial proposals, event plans, partnership pitches, budgets, risk registers, audience insights and post-event evaluations. -

- Use practitioner feedback and clear rubrics to assess both thinking and execution.

- Support students in building qualified portfolios and networks, and guide them towards internships and earlycareer opportunities.

4. Lead academic delivery and programme quality Teach and coordinate postgraduate courses in your areas of strength; model excellent, engaging, discussion-led and practice-oriented teaching. Recruit, brief and coordinate visiting faculty and industry practitioners; ensure their contribution fits programme outcomes and academic standards. Review student feedback, assessment quality, course performance and employer input, then make visible improvements. Supervise capstones and applied research where the work solves a meaningful industry problem; support scholarship that informs teaching and practice.

5. Help shape the future of sports and events in India Track changes in leagues, event formats, media rights, sponsorship models, sports technology, data and AI, fan behaviour, women’s sport, grassroots participation and the economics of venues and live experiences. Turn those changes into curriculum updates, industry conversations, student projects and useful thought leadership. Develop a distinctive point of view on how India can build more professional, inclusive, sustainable and commercially viable sports and events ecosystems. Represent the programme credibly with industry, prospective students, alumni and the wider Universities community.
