Job Summary

The Application Engineer will support product design, development, and validation activities using solid engineering fundamentals and technical expertise. The role involves collaboration with design, manufacturing, quality, and customer teams to deliver robust, manufacturable, and reliable engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate with design and development teams to translate customer requirements into engineering solutions.
- Conduct Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) to identify potential risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure product fit, function, and design feasibility.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;) principles to engineering drawings.
- Use CATIA V5 for part modelling, Generative Shape Design (GSD), drafting, and assembly.
- Support prototype builds, design reviews, and product validation testing.
- Work with manufacturing and quality teams to resolve design and process-related issues.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, specifications, and technical reports.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.




- Provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Automotive, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–6 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Mandatory hands-on proficiency in CATIA V5, including:
- Part Modelling
- Generative Shape Design (GSD)
- Drafting
- Assembly
- Strong understanding of DFMEA, tolerance stack-up analysis, GD&T;, and mechanical design principles.
- Knowledge of plastic and sheet metal components and their manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of materials, product validation, and design optimization techniques.
- Knowledge of DFM/DFA principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

- Experience designing safety-critical automotive components, such as steering wheels and airbags.
- Basic understanding of CAE or engineering simulation tools.
