About the Role

Rao Space is looking for an Interior Design Consultant who enjoys both working with clients and designing residential interiors.

At Rao Space, we follow a Planning First approach.

Before designing, we first understand the client's lifestyle, family requirements, daily routines, storage needs, priorities and constraints.

Your role will cover:

Client Discovery → Planning → Design Consultation → Interior Designing → Presentation → Revisions → Design Approval

What You Will Do

- Meet qualified prospective and existing clients.
- Conduct structured requirement-discovery discussions.
- Understand client lifestyle, space requirements and storage needs.
- Develop space-planning and storage-planning solutions.
- Design residential interiors including kitchens, wardrobes and other modular units.
- Prepare layouts, 2D/3D designs and presentations.
- Present design ideas confidently to clients.
- Explain the reasoning behind design recommendations.
- Handle client feedback and design revisions.
- Coordinate with other Rao Space teams.
- Maintain accurate design and client documentation.
- Learn new design tools and company systems.
- Contribute to internal training and knowledge-sharing content.

What This Role Is NOT

This is not a conventional sales position.

You will not be expected to:

- Cold call prospects
- Generate leads
- Carry conventional sales targets
- Negotiate prices
- Close commercial deals

However, client consultation is a core responsibility.

If you prefer only receiving finalized requirements and working independently on designs afterward, this position may not be suitable.

What We're Looking For

- Experience in residential interiors.
- Good space-planning skills.
- Understanding of modular kitchens and wardrobes.
- Strong design sense.
- Valuable client communication.
- Ability to understand requirements beyond what is immediately stated.
- Confidence in presenting and explaining design recommendations.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp or equivalent interior-design tools.
- Willingness to learn new software and processes.
- Ownership and accountability for assigned work.

Working Schedule

10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
6 days per week

Sunday is normally the weekly off.

Because this is a client-facing role, occasional scheduled Sunday client meetings may be required. When required to work on Sunday, the weekly off may be shifted to Tuesday in coordination with the reporting manager.

Compensation & Growth

₹40,000-₹45,000 gross per month

The position carries a 3-month probation period.

A performance-linked incentive structure will be introduced after successful completion of probation.
