JJob Description: Electrical Engineer (B.Tech)

CTC Range: ₹20,000 – ₹40,000 per month (or as per Interview)

1. Role Objective

To ensure the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of electrical systems and equipment across the plant by implementing preventive and predictive maintenance practices, analyzing electrical faults, minimizing equipment downtime, and ensuring compliance with applicable electrical safety standards and statutory requirements.

2. Key Responsibilities

Electrical Maintenance & Reliability

- Plan, monitor, and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment.
- Ensure the reliable operation of HT/LT electrical systems, transformers, motors, MCCs, PCCs, distribution panels, and electrical installations.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve electrical system reliability and efficiency.
- Analyze recurring electrical failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Troubleshooting & Technical Analysis

- Diagnose complex electrical faults in motors, control panels, power distribution systems, and industrial equipment.
- Analyze motor control circuits, electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and control wiring drawings.
- Coordinate with maintenance technicians and external service providers to resolve equipment breakdowns.
- Support troubleshooting of PLC-based systems, VFDs, soft starters, and industrial automation equipment.

Engineering & Project Support

- Support the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of current electrical equipment and systems.
- Review electrical drawings, technical specifications, equipment manuals, and wiring diagrams.
- Assist in electrical modification works, plant expansion projects, and equipment improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for electrical maintenance,



installation, and commissioning activities.

Maintenance Planning & Documentation

- Prepare preventive maintenance schedules and monitor their timely completion.
- Maintain equipment history, breakdown reports, maintenance records, and technical documentation.
- Analyze breakdown trends, equipment downtime, and maintenance performance indicators.
- Monitor critical electrical spares and coordinate with stores and procurement teams for timely availability.

Safety & Statutory Compliance

- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety regulations, statutory requirements, and company safety procedures.
- Implement LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), permit-to-work, and safe isolation procedures before maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper earthing, electrical protection, interlocking, and safety systems are maintained.
- Participate in electrical safety audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Ensure that maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with applicable factory and electrical safety regulations.

Coordination & Team Management

- Coordinate with production, utilities, instrumentation, and mechanical maintenance teams to minimize plant downtime.
- Guide and supervise electricians and maintenance technicians during electrical maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with OEMs, contractors, and service engineers for specialized maintenance and technical support.
- Provide technical updates and maintenance reports to the Plant Maintenance Manager.

3. Educational Qualifications

- B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.




- Diploma in Electrical Engineering may be considered only if permitted by the employer's recruitment criteria.

4. Experience Required

- Preferred: 3–5 years of experience in electrical maintenance in an industrial manufacturing or process plant.
- Experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, specialty chemical, or other process industries will be an added advantage.
- Freshers with strong technical knowledge may be considered separately, depending on business requirements.

5. Technical Skills Required

- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, HT/LT distribution, transformers, motors, and switchgear.
- Good understanding of MCC/PCC panels, motor control circuits, VFDs, and soft starters.
- Basic knowledge of PLCs, electrical control systems, and industrial automation.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and control schematics.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance planning, breakdown analysis, and root cause analysis.
- Understanding of electrical protection systems, earthing, and industrial safety practices.
- Working knowledge of maintenance documentation and MS Excel.
