Job Description & Responsibilities

A Blood Bank Technician manages blood and blood components to ensure secure transfusions. Key duties include:

- Blood Collection & Phlebotomy: Draw blood samples from donors during regular hospital operations or community donation camps.
- Testing & Screening: Perform blood typing (ABO/Rh grouping), cross-matching, and antibody screening to ensure recipient compatibility.
- Component Preparation: Process whole blood into specific components like red blood cells, platelets, and plasma using centrifuges and specialized equipment.
- Inventory & Storage: Label, store, and monitor blood products in refrigerators and freezers while tracking expiration dates and stock levels.
- Record Keeping & Compliance: Maintain accurate digital or manual logs, manage audit trails,



and follow standards set by regulatory bodies and hospital policies (such as NABH).

Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: A diploma or B.Sc. degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), Medical Technology, Biology, or a related field.
- Certification: Preferred certification or registration as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or equivalent local/national health council recognition.
- Skills: Proficiency with lab equipment (centrifuges, cell counters, refrigerators), strong attention to detail, and a readiness to work rotating shifts (morning, evening, night)

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
