Chipmates Technologies Private
Chennai
Chipmates Technologies is establishing a state-of-the-art Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) facility in Chennai. We are deploying a custom ERP system tailored to high-precision SMT and box-build assembly.
We are looking for a hands-on Lead Full-Stack ERP/MES Developer with direct shop-floor
exposure to electronics manufacturing. In this role, you will initially work closely with our
external software development partner to co-develop, customize, and deploy our ERP
solution, take internal technical ownership, and train factory personnel.
As operations scale, you will lead our digital manufacturing roadmap—building and
heading an in-house software engineering team to design, develop, and integrate our
proprietary Manufacturing Execution System (MES) directly with shop-floor machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-Development & Solution Architecture: Collaborate closely with our external
technology vendor on database architecture, backend logic, APIs, and frontend
interfaces; conduct code and schema reviews to ensure system scalability and longterm
maintainability.
- SMT & Shop-Floor Alignment: Ensure ERP workflows match core EMS
operational realities—including multi-level BOMs, Job Work vs. Turnkey material
segregation, inward inspection (IQC), reel-level barcode/QR traceability, SMT work
orders, machine line scrap, and quality checkpoints (SPI/AOI/testing).
- Future MES Architecture & Team Leadership: Lead the technical strategy for
building our proprietary in-house MES; recruit, mentor, and manage an internal
engineering team to develop direct machine integrations (SMT placement lines,
reflow ovens, AOI/SPI testers) for real-time telemetry, OEE tracking, and closed-loop
process control.
- Hardware & Tool Integration: Implement native hardware integration for 2D
barcode/QR scanners, Zebra thermal label printers, and shop-floor data collection
terminals.
- Internal Training & SOPs: Create practical SOPs and conduct hands-on training for
stores, production lines, quality, and dispatch teams
Data Governance & Compliance: Enforce strict data discipline across departments
to ensure every transaction (material issues, line returns, scrap, dispatch) is captured
accurately in real time.
- In-House Maintenance & Enhancements: Manage system access, build custom
reports/dashboards, resolve technical issues, and lead post-launch feature additions.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
- Experience: 5–8 years in full-stack software development, with proven exposure to
manufacturing ERP implementations and architecture.
- Domain Background: Prior experience working in or directly with an SMT /
Electronics Manufacturing (EMS) plant is essential. Understanding reel-level
component handling, PCB assembly stages,
and Job Work inventory flow is
mandatory.
- Leadership & Vision: Demonstrated ability or clear readiness to lead an engineering
team, define an MES development roadmap, and bridge the gap between IT and
industrial automation.
- Technical Stack:
o Backend: Strong expertise in server-side development (Node.js, Python, Java,
or PHP/Deluge frameworks) and REST/WebSocket API design.
o Frontend: Solid skills in modern JavaScript (React, Vue, or Angular),
HTML5/CSS3, and responsive UI design.
o Database: Advanced SQL skills (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL) with
expertise in schema design, queries, and optimization; familiarity with timeseries
databases for machine telemetry is a plus.
- Hardware & IoT Integration: Practical experience interfacing web applications
with handheld barcode scanners, industrial label printers, and shop-floor
hardware/PLC/machine protocols.
- Communication & Training: Strong interpersonal skills to manage vendor
discussions, lead developers, and train factory floor operators.
What We Offer
- Leadership role owning the complete digital operational engine of a high-growth
EMS facility.
- Transparent career path from initial ERP rollout to building and heading the internal
software/MES engineering division.
- Highly competitive compensation based on experience and technical pedigree.
Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Paid time off
- Provident Fund
Work Location: In person
