About Printsy

Printsy is an Australian startup in the 3D printing industry, developing premium-quality filaments and a growing library of original 3D printable models.

We're looking for an Interactive 3D Web Developer to build browser-based 3D configurators and model customisation tools that allow users to create, customise and export 3D-printable models.

Examples include custom cookie cutter makers, parametric vase generators and other interactive tools where users can modify shapes, dimensions, text and patterns, preview changes in real time, and export their designs for 3D printing.

Responsibilities

- Build interactive 3D configurators and procedural model generators.
- Develop tools that generate and modify 3D geometry based on user inputs.
- Implement real-time previews and export functionality for formats such as STL, OBJ and GLB.
- Ensure generated models are suitable for 3D printing where applicable.
- Optimise 3D performance across desktop and mobile devices.
- Develop supporting web applications and integrate 3D tools with Shopify and e-commerce workflows.
- Customise Shopify themes and features using Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Technical Skills Required

- Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
- Experience with Three.js, React Three Fiber, Babylon.js or similar technologies.
- Experience with React, Next.js or similar frameworks.
- Understanding of 3D geometry, procedural modelling and mesh processing.




- Experience with 3D model export and formats such as STL, OBJ and GLB.
- Shopify Liquid, APIs and backend development experience are an advantage.

What We're Looking For

Our priority is interactive 3D development, not standard website development. We're looking for someone who can build functional configurators that generate or modify actual 3D models, rather than simply displaying existing models.

Experience with procedural modelling, parametric geometry, CAD systems or 3D-printing workflows is highly desirable.
