1. Job Summary

The Senior Structural Engineer is responsible for leading and executing structural analysis, design, detailing, and technical coordination for buildings, industrial structures, and infrastructure projects. The role involves ensuring structural safety, compliance with applicable design codes, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of engineering deliverables.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesStructural Analysis and Design

- Perform structural analysis and design of RCC, steel, and composite structures.
- Design foundations, columns, beams, slabs, shear walls, retaining walls, and other structural elements.
- Analyze buildings and industrial structures for dead loads, live loads, wind loads, seismic loads, and other applicable loading conditions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable IS codes, NBC, ACI, AISC, Eurocodes, or other project-specific standards.
- Review structural calculations, design assumptions, and engineering methodologies.

Engineering Deliverables

- Prepare and review structural design calculations, design reports, specifications, and technical documents.
- Review structural general arrangement drawings, reinforcement drawings, steel fabrication drawings, and connection details.




- Coordinate with drafting and BIM teams to ensure accuracy and consistency of deliverables.
- Review shop drawings, bar bending schedules, and construction-related technical submissions.

Project Coordination

- Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, MEP teams, geotechnical engineers, and construction teams.
- Resolve structural design issues and respond to RFIs and technical queries.
- Conduct site visits and provide technical guidance during construction.
- Identify design conflicts, assess structural changes, and recommend appropriate solutions.

Quality and Compliance

- Ensure structural designs meet safety, serviceability, durability, and constructability requirements.
- Conduct independent design checks and peer reviews.
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance procedures, project specifications, and statutory requirements.
- Support value engineering, optimization, and cost-reduction initiatives.

Team Leadership

- Guide and mentor junior structural engineers and design engineers.
- Allocate engineering tasks and monitor progress against project schedules.
- Review team deliverables and maintain technical quality.
- Support project managers and engineering managers in planning and resource allocation.

3. Technical Skills Required

- Solid knowledge of RCC and structural steel design.




- Expertise in structural analysis and design principles.
- Proficiency in relevant software, such as:
- STAAD.Pro
- ETABS
- SAFE
- SAP2000
- AutoCAD
- Revit Structure / Tekla Structures, as applicable
- Knowledge of foundation design and soil-structure interaction.
- Familiarity with structural detailing, design calculations, and engineering documentation.
- Ability to interpret architectural, civil, and geotechnical drawings.

4. Required Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
- Typically 8–15 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience in independently executing and reviewing structural designs.
- Experience in leading design teams and coordinating multidisciplinary projects.
- Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills.

5. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Accuracy and quality of structural design deliverables.
- Compliance with applicable codes and project specifications.
- Timely submission of calculations and drawings.
- Reduction in design errors, rework, and site-related structural issues.
- Effective coordination with project stakeholders.
- Productivity and technical development of the engineering team.

6. Working Conditions:-

Office-based structural design and engineering coordination.

Site visits as required by project needs.

Coordination with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal engineering teams.
