Project Manager/Site-Based (Mining, Coal Washery, & Heavy Engineering Projects)
Position Summary
Next Track Engineering is seeking a dynamic, results-driven, and experienced Site Project Manager to lead site-based execution for heavy engineering, industrial fabrication, and mineral processing/coal washery infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in managing large-scale mechanical erection, structural steel installation, and commissioning of heavy machinery (crushing and screening equipments, heavy media vessels, vibrating screens, feeder breakers, and thickeners).
You will be responsible for overall site operations, resource mobilization, progress tracking, strict quality compliance, and maintaining an uncompromising safety culture on-site.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Planning:
Oversee end-to-end site execution for coal washeries, mineral processing plants, material handling systems, and heavy structural pre-engineered buildings (PEBs).
Develop comprehensive site execution schedules, resource deployment plans, and sequencing for equipment erection (e.g., heavy media cyclones, wet drum magnetic separators, conveyors, and crushers).
Ensure projects are delivered within approved timelines, budgetary constraints, and technical specifications.
Site Management & Erection Oversight:
Coordinate the mobilization of heavy machinery, cranes, tools, and skilled/unskilled manpower to site on short notice.
Supervise structural fabrication erection, alignment of rotary equipment, welding compliance (TIG, MIG, SAW, SMAW), and non-destructive testing (NDT) standards.
Manage site interfaces with client representatives, sub-contractors, consultants, and internal engineering teams.
Health, Safety, and Workplace
Enforce strict safety protocols across all site operations, ensuring zero-accident performance during high-risk lifting and erection activities.
Conduct regular safety tool-box talks, hazard identifications, and compliance audits for all site personnel and sub-contractors.
Reporting & Cost Control:
Track daily progress, prepare MIS reports, and manage site-level petty cash, inventory reconciliation, and productivity metrics.
Mitigate project bottlenecks proactively and handle site claims, variations, and client coordination effectively.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.
Experience:
Minimum 10 to 15 years of total experience, with at least 5+ years in a project management or site-in-charge role.
Proven track record in executing coal washery plants, mineral processing facilities, thermal power plants, steel plants, or heavy industrial fabrication projects.
Hands-on familiarity with heavy mechanical equipment installation (Vibrating Screens, Rotary Breakers, Feeder Breakers, Thickeners, and Heavy Media Vessels).
Technical & Core Competencies:
Strong reading and interpretation of engineering drawings, P&IDs;, GA drawings, and structural fabrication blueprints.
Sound knowledge of heavy lifting plans, crane capacities, rigging, and structural alignment techniques.
Excellent leadership, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
What We Offer
Competitive remuneration package commensurate with experience.
Site allowances, accommodation provisions, and performance-based project completion incentives.
Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
Benefits:
