Job Summary

The Head – PPC will be responsible for leading the Production Planning & Control function for the Solar Cell and Solar Module manufacturing facility.



The role will ensure effective production planning, capacity utilization, material availability, inventory optimization, and on-time order fulfillment while aligning production schedules with business objectives. The incumbent will drive operational excellence through robust planning systems, cross-functional coordination, and continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Scheduling

- Develop and execute monthly, weekly, and daily production plans for Solar Cell and Solar Module manufacturing lines.
- Ensure optimal utilization of plant capacity, manpower, and equipment to meet customer delivery commitments.
- Balance production demand with available resources and manufacturing constraints.
- Monitor production progress and proactively address schedule deviations.

Material Planning & Inventory Control

- Coordinate with Procurement, Stores, and Supply Chain teams to ensure uninterrupted availability of raw materials, consumables, and packaging materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and establish planning parameters to minimize excess inventory and stockouts.
- Implement inventory optimization strategies while maintaining desired service levels.

Demand Forecasting & Capacity Planning

- Collaborate with Sales, SCM, and Operations teams to convert demand forecasts into executable production plans.
- Conduct capacity analysis and identify bottlenecks in production processes.
- Recommend capacity enhancement initiatives to support business growth.

Cross-Functional Coordination

- Act as the key interface between Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, SCM, Warehouse, and Sales departments.
- Align production schedules with customer requirements and dispatch commitments.




- Ensure smooth material flow throughout the manufacturing value chain.

Production Control & Monitoring

- Track and report key production metrics including production attainment, schedule adherence, capacity utilization, inventory turns, OTIF (On-Time In-Full), and WIP levels.
- Lead daily production review meetings and drive corrective actions.

Process Improvement & Digitization

- Drive implementation and optimization of ERP/MRP systems for planning processes.
- Establish planning dashboards and MIS reporting mechanisms.
- Lead continuous improvement projects focusing on planning accuracy, inventory reduction, and operational efficiency.

Educational Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Production, Manufacturing, or related discipline).
- MBA/PGDM in Operations or Supply Chain Management preferred.

Experience

- 10+ years of experience in Production Planning & Control, Supply Chain Planning, or Manufacturing Operations.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership role managing PPC functions.
- Mandatory experience in Solar Cell Manufacturing, OR Solar Module Manufacturing, OR Renewable Energy Manufacturing industry.
- Experience in high-volume automated manufacturing environments is highly preferred.

Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of PPC principles, MRP, ERP, and Supply Chain Planning.
- Hands-on experience with SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems.
- Expertise in demand planning, inventory management, and capacity planning.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and production analytics tools.
- Understanding of Solar Cell and Module manufacturing processes.

Preferred Candidate

- Proven experience in setting up or scaling PPC operations in a Solar Cell/Module manufacturing plant.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end manufacturing and supply chain operations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented manufacturing setting.
- Experience in Greenfield/Brownfield solar manufacturing projects will be an added advantage.
