Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Furniture Design Engineer with practical knowledge of furniture design, manufacturing drawings, BOQ preparation, and 3D visualization. The candidate should have complete working knowledge of SketchUp, V-Ray, AutoCAD, and Lumion and be capable of preparing detailed drawings and realistic 3D designs for office and residential furniture.

The candidate must understand furniture materials, hardware, manufacturing processes, cutting lists, material estimation, and production requirements to ensure that designs are practical, cost-effective, and ready for manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Furniture Design & 3D Visualization

- Design office furniture such as workstations, office tables, conference tables, reception counters, storage cabinets, and modular office furniture.
- Design home furniture such as wardrobes, modular kitchens, beds, TV units, sofas, dressing tables, and other customized furniture.
- Prepare 3D models and realistic renders using SketchUp and V-Ray.
- Prepare interior furniture layouts and visual presentations using Lumion wherever required.
- Develop designs according to client requirements, site dimensions, and approved concepts.

2. Drawing Preparation

- Prepare detailed furniture drawings using AutoCAD and SketchUp.
- Prepare plan, elevation, section, and detailed fabrication/manufacturing drawings.
- Develop dimensioned drawings with material specifications and hardware details.
- Prepare assembly drawings, installation details, and production drawings.
- Study architectural drawings, interior layouts,



and client specifications before starting the design.
- Revise drawings as per client feedback and site requirements.

3. BOQ & Estimation

- Prepare detailed BOQs for office and home furniture.
- Calculate quantities of plywood, MDF, HDHMR, laminates, veneers, glass, metal sections, and other furniture materials.
- Prepare cutting lists, material consumption sheets, and hardware schedules.
- Estimate material quantities, manufacturing requirements, and project costs.
- Prepare quotations and cost comparisons based on approved drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with the purchase and production teams for material planning.

4. Manufacturing & Production Coordination

- Understand furniture manufacturing processes, including cutting, edge banding, drilling, routing, assembly, polishing, and installation.
- Ensure that drawings are practical and suitable for manufacturing.
- Coordinate with carpenters, fabricators, production supervisors, and installation teams.
- Resolve drawing-related queries during manufacturing and installation.
- Verify finished furniture against approved drawings and specifications.

5. Site Measurement & Client Coordination

- Visit sites for measurements and verification wherever required.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, interior designers, and project teams.
- Ensure that furniture dimensions match actual site conditions.
- Maintain proper records of drawings, revisions, BOQs, and approvals.

Required Software Skills

- SketchUp:



Advanced knowledge of 3D furniture modelling.
- V-Ray: Good knowledge of realistic rendering, materials, lighting, and textures.
- AutoCAD: Strong knowledge of 2D drafting, dimensioning, layouts, and manufacturing drawings.
- Lumion: Knowledge of rendering, visualization, and presentation.
- MS Excel: Knowledge of BOQ preparation, material calculations, and cost estimation.

Required Technical Knowledge

- Good understanding of furniture materials, thicknesses, finishes, and hardware.
- Knowledge of plywood, MDF, HDHMR, particle board, laminates, veneers, glass, and metal accessories.
- Knowledge of modular furniture construction, joinery, fittings, hinges, drawer channels, and accessories.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design drawings.
- Understanding of material optimization, cutting plans, and wastage control.
- Ability to prepare accurate drawings and BOQs independently.

Qualification

- Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Furniture Design, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in furniture design and manufacturing.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in modular furniture manufacturing will be preferred.

Desired Candidate Profile

- Strong design sense with practical manufacturing knowledge.
- Ability to work independently from concept development to final production drawings.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in dimensions, quantities, and specifications.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- A portfolio of previous furniture designs, 3D renders, and manufacturing drawings is preferred.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹21,000.00 per month
