Technical Lead – D365 Finance & Operations (D365FO)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead – D365FO to lead the design, development, customization, integration, and support of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations solutions. The candidate should have strong technical expertise in X++, D365FO architecture, integrations, reporting, and development best practices, along with experience leading technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the technical design, development, customization, and implementation of D365 Finance & Operations solutions.
- Develop and customize D365FO using X++, extensions, Chain of Command (CoC), event handlers, and frameworks.
- Design and implement integrations between D365FO and external systems using OData, REST APIs, SOAP, Data Management Framework (DMF), and Azure services.
- Develop and maintain SSRS reports, Electronic Reporting (ER), workflows, batch jobs, and data entities.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
- Lead code reviews, technical estimations, performance optimization, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Work closely with functional consultants, business stakeholders, architects, and offshore/onshore development teams.
- Ensure adherence to Microsoft D365FO development standards, best practices, and coding guidelines.




- Manage deployments across development, test, UAT, and production environments.
- Mentor developers and provide technical guidance to the team.

Mandatory Technical Skills

- 7–9 years of experience in Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365FO development.
- Solid hands-on experience in X++ development.
- Strong knowledge of D365FO architecture and extensibility framework.
- Experience with Chain of Command, extensions, event handlers, delegates, and overlayering concepts.
- Expertise in D365FO integrations and Data Management Framework (DMF).
- Experience with OData, REST APIs, SOAP, and web services.
- Hands-on experience with SSRS, Electronic Reporting, workflows, batch processing, and data entities.
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server and database concepts.
- Experience with Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, Git, and source control.
- Good understanding of Azure services and cloud-based integrations.

Good to Have

- Experience with Power Platform, Power Automate, and Power BI.
- Knowledge of Lifecycle Services (LCS) and D365FO environment management.
- Experience with Performance Monitoring and Optimization (PerfTimer, Trace Parser, SQL optimization).
- Knowledge of D365FO security, roles, privileges, and duties.
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations certification is an advantage.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
