We are hiring Quality Head for one of our esteemed clients in the Manufacturing industry, based in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

Candidate Priority

We require a hands-on Quality Head who can personally prepare and maintain documentation, ensure disciplined shopfloor implementation, independently handle customers and audits, and deliver sustained reduction in complaints and rejection.

Key Responsibilities & Required Expertise

1. Quality Department Ownership

Independently manage the Quality function, covering incoming, in-process and final inspection, customer quality and quality systems.

2. Practical Shopfloor Quality Control

Ensure actual implementation of quality controls on the shopfloor through regular rounds, process verification, first-piece approval, patrol inspection and adherence to inspection standards.

3. Quality Documentation & Records

Prepare, maintain and update procedures, SOPs, work instructions, inspection standards, Control Plans, PFMEA, inspection reports and quality records. Ensure documents reflect actual shopfloor practices and records are accurate and completed on time.

4. Customer Complaint Reduction

Drive measurable reduction in customer complaints, customer PPM, repeat defects and returns through effective containment, root-cause analysis, 8D and corrective-action verification.

5. Internal Rejection & Rework Reduction

Analyse rejection and rework trends using Pareto analysis and structured problem-solving.



Implement permanent corrective actions and verify their effectiveness.

6. QMS Implementation

Maintain and improve the Quality Management System in line with IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and customer-specific requirements.

7. Customer & Certification Audits

Independently handle Maruti Suzuki, Hero and other OEM customer audits, VSA and certification audits. Ensure continuous audit readiness and timely, effective closure of non-conformities.

8. Internal & Shopfloor Audits

Plan and conduct system, process, product and Layered Process Audits. Verify implementation of corrective actions at the point of operation.

9. Core Quality Tools

Hands-on expertise in APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC and MSA, with working knowledge of VDA 6.3 and customer-specific submission requirements.

10. Precision Machining & Metrology

Understand CNC and Sliding Head machining defects, engineering drawings, GD&T;, tolerances, measuring instruments and gauges. Ensure calibration, gauge suitability and measurement reliability.

11. Process Capability & Prevention

Monitor Cp/Cpk, implement SPC for critical characteristics and strengthen poka-yoke, first-off/last-off checks and process controls to prevent defects.

12. 4M Changes & Traceability

Ensure proper quality validation and documentation of 4M changes, customer approvals wherever required, lot traceability and control of suspect or non-conforming material.

13. Quality Performance Monitoring

Track customer PPM, internal rejection, rework, cost of poor quality, complaint recurrence and corrective-action closure against defined improvement targets.

14. Team Development & Coordination

Train inspectors and operators on defect identification, CTQ characteristics and inspection methods. Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Stores and Purchase to resolve quality issues.
