Ahmedabad, Gujarat Department: Design Grade/Level: Senior Executive Reporting To: Operations / Production Head Number of Openings: 1 Position Type: Current Position Job PurposeThe candidate will be responsible for efficiently handling engineering design for a material handling equipment manufacturing company, using in-depth knowledge of SolidWorks software.
Key Responsibilities
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of SolidWorks software.
• Assist the production team and engineering staff in the design and development of components.
• Collaborate effectively with engineering staff to ensure the form, fit, and function of designs.
• Work with management to ensure the cost-effectiveness and manufacturability of designs.
• Perform product cost analysis.
• Prepare technical designs of products according to specifications received from clients and the sales team.
• Review and verify design drawings and technical documentation prepared by others to ensure correctness and accuracy in form, fit, and function.
• Use specialised software to create product models and drawings.
• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM) for all products.
• Consider cost-effectiveness and safety when developing new designs. Required Skills
• At least 1 year of experience in mechanical design.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks software.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication processes.
• Understanding of current cutting tool technology. Desired Skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
