About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Database Engineer to manage, optimize, and maintain our database infrastructure across development, staging, and production environments. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in SQL Server, Azure SQL, database performance tuning, data modeling, and production database administration. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring database performance, availability, security, data integrity, and reliability while supporting business-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, manage, and maintain databases across development and production environments.
• Perform database administration, monitoring, performance tuning, and query optimization.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and indexes.
• Troubleshoot slow queries, blocking, deadlocks, connection issues, and database performance bottlenecks.
• Manage database backup, restoration, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies.
• Monitor database health, resource utilization, capacity, and performance metrics.
• Manage database security, user access, permissions, and role-based access control.
• Handle database migrations, schema changes, version control, and deployment activities.
• Work with application and DevOps teams to support releases, resolve production issues, and improve database reliability.
• Manage cloud databases, particularly Azure SQL Database and related Azure data services.
• Implement database maintenance plans, monitoring, alerting, and automation.
• Ensure data integrity, availability,



security, and compliance with organizational standards. Required

Skills:
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in database engineering, database administration, or SQL development.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022) and Azure SQL Database.
• Excellent knowledge of T-SQL, query execution plans, indexing strategies, and performance optimization.
• Experience with database troubleshooting, blocking, deadlocks, transactions, and concurrency management.
• Hands-on experience with backup and recovery, database maintenance, and production support.
• Experience managing database deployments, schema migrations, and release processes.
• Positive understanding of database architecture, normalization, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience with monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving critical production database issues.
• Knowledge of Azure cloud services and cloud database management. Positive to Have:
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, or Microsoft Fabric.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and other relational databases.
• Experience with database automation using PowerShell, Python, or Shell scripting.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
• Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, and database security best practices. What we're Looking for: We need a hands-on engineer who can independently manage databases, identify root causes of complex issues, optimize database performance, and confidently handle production-critical database operations.
