Linux Administrator Work Mode: Remote Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (C2H) Immediate Joiner Only Role: Linux Administrator Role Summary We are looking for an experienced Linux Administrator to manage, maintain, patch, monitor, and troubleshoot Linux server infrastructure. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Oracle Linux, Linux patching, and Red Hat Satellite/Katello. The role involves ensuring server availability, security, stability, and performance while supporting enterprise infrastructure. Experience with automation, monitoring tools, Linux hardening, and enterprise environments will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux operating systems across physical and virtual servers.
• Perform Linux patching, security updates, and system upgrades using Red Hat Satellite, Katello, or similar patch management tools.
• Administer RHEL and Oracle Linux environments, including user management, disk management, package management, and system services.
• Monitor server health, availability, performance, and capacity; troubleshoot system-level issues.
• Perform Linux security hardening, access management, and compliance-related activities.
• Develop and maintain shell scripts using Bash or other scripting languages to automate routine administrative tasks.
• Troubleshoot operating system, hardware, networking, and application-related issues.
• Manage system logs, investigate incidents, and support root-cause analysis.
• Perform system performance tuning and support backup and restoration activities.
• Maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and operational records.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, security, and application teams to ensure reliable IT operations.



Required Skills — Priority 1 (Mandatory)
• Strong hands-on experience in Linux system administration.
• Expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and/or Oracle Linux.
• Practical experience with Linux patching and patch management.
• Hands-on experience with Red Hat Satellite or Katello.
• Experience in Linux server monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance analysis.
• Proficiency in Bash/Shell scripting.
• Strong understanding of Linux administration, system services, user permissions, storage, and package management. Preferred Skills — Priority 2
• Experience with Zabbix or similar monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of Ansible for configuration management and automation.
• Experience in Linux security hardening and vulnerability remediation.
• Knowledge of log management, system performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with enterprise backup and restore solutions. Specialized Skills — Priority 3 (Added Advantage)
• Experience with Oracle Exadata infrastructure.
• Knowledge of RoCE (RDMA over Converged Ethernet) and InfiniBand networking.
• Exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or hybrid cloud environments.
• Familiarity with enterprise backup platforms such as NetBackup and Cohesity.
• Experience managing Linux virtual machines on VMware ESXi.
• Knowledge of Linux integration with Active Directory using LDAP, Kerberos, or Quest/One Identity Safeguard Authentication Services.
• Basic knowledge of Windows Server administration and hybrid infrastructure environments. Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will be a hands-on Linux Administrator with robust expertise in enterprise Linux operations, patch management, and troubleshooting. Candidates with the mandatory Linux skills should be prioritized; specialized experience in Exadata, RoCE, InfiniBand, and OCI will be considered a significant advantage.
