Job description
& type of work: The PostgreSQL Database Administrator is responsible for configuring, administering, and maintaining the PostgreSQL database environments. Responsibilities include database upgrades, replication,patching, security, troubleshooting and issue resolution, backup procedures, and performance tuning. In addition, application DBA’s will provide support and direction to developers and other support personnel as needed. Daily responsibilities include monitoring production setting, providing acceptable system performance, and assuring data is protected and recoverable as required. ● Installation, configuration, tunning, patching, refreshes and upgrading database environment using different utilities. ● Migrating PostgreSQL databases and setting up high availability solutions and migrating On-prem PostgreSQL and MariaDB to cloud [AWS, Azure, GCP] environment. ● Setting up, monitoring, and troubleshooting database replication (streaming/logical replication for PostgreSQL, including lag monitoring, failover, and recovery. ● Proven experience managing database configurations. ● Automate database recurring tasks using Ansible playbooks. ● Managing database Users, Permissions and Security.



● Perform regular maintenance activities. ● Monitoring Space management, user's activities, and resource utilization. ● Ability to independently maintain and administrator databases. ● Ability to learn and adapt procedures, processes, and current technologies quickly. ● Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders. Minimum criteria or

requirements:
● 5-7 years of experience in the field of role required Qualifications, training and experience required: ● Intermediate understanding of indexes, index management, integrity checks and statistics ● Intermediate knowledge of high availability, Disaster Recovery solutions and database systems architectural design ● Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field ● Leads others to solve complex problems ● Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations ● May provide functional leadership to teams or projects Additional Rackspace
