Role Overview To support research and applied projects in semen biology, focusing on sperm function, cryopreservation, and molecular characterization. The role requires proficiency in advanced molecular biology techniques and frequent travel to field laboratories to oversee sample collection, conduct assays, and validate data.
Key Responsibilities
• Laboratory Research
• Analyze sperm function, motility, capacitation, and cryo-survival using biochemical and molecular markers
• Develop and optimize protocols for semen preservation and sperm biology related experiments
• Perform molecular biology experiments (PCR, qPCR, Western blotting, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence) on semen samples.
• Field Work
• Travel to partner laboratories, breeding centers, and research stations to supervise semen collection and processing.
• Train local staff in standardized semen handling and molecular assays.
• Ensure compliance with biosafety and ethical standards during field operations.
• Collect, validate,
and interpret field data on semen quality and fertility outcomes.
• Collaboration & Communication
• Work closely with veterinarians, reproductive biologists, and molecular scientists and provide scientific inputs based on filed observations. Required Qualifications
•
Education:
PhD or Master’s (with 3 to 5 year experience) in Reproductive Biology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or related field.
• Technical
Skills:
• Expertise in semen biology and sperm physiology.
• Solid command of molecular biology techniques (DNA/RNA extraction, PCR/qPCR, protein assays).
• Experience with flow cytometry and imaging methods for sperm analysis.
• Field Competence:
• Willingness to travel extensively to field labs and breeding centers.
• Ability to adapt protocols to variable field conditions.
