• Engineer, Software Job Overview: The T-Mobile FinTech Platform team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, scalable, and highly reliable backend services powering digital banking, payments, card services, customer account management, and financial transaction processing. This hands-on role owns complex services and integrations across internal T-Mobile platforms and external banking and financial technology partners. The Senior Engineer contributes to architecture and design, delivers cloud-native Java/Spring Boot applications, and owns software across development, deployment, monitoring, and production support. Success requires sound technical judgment, reliable transaction processing, secure handling of sensitive information, and collaboration with product, architecture, QA, operations, security, and partner teams. Candidates should have 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience. Prior banking or FinTech experience is preferred, not required. Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable Java/Spring Boot backend services, REST APIs, and microservices for FinTech products.
• Own complex services end to end, including technical design, implementation, automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
• Design secure integrations with internal T-Mobile platforms, external banking partners, payment processors,



and other financial service providers.
• Implement reliable transaction workflows with appropriate validation, retries, idempotency, error recovery, data integrity, and reconciliation.
• Contribute to distributed system design, event-driven integration, asynchronous processing, and fault-tolerant application patterns.
• Design and optimize relational and NoSQL data access, including PostgreSQL or comparable databases; build scheduled jobs or ETL pipelines when needed.

• Build and operate cloud-native applications on AWS or equivalent cloud platforms, using CI/CD and containerized deployment practices.
• Apply secure coding, authentication, authorization, encryption, secrets management, audit logging, and applicable financial data security controls.
• Improve observability with logs, metrics, tracing, and alerting; investigate complex production issues and lead technical root cause analysis for owned services.
• Participate in architectural and design decisions, assess trade-offs, conduct code reviews, and mentor other engineers.
• Collaborate with product owners, architecture, QA, security, operations, and partner teams to define solutions and deliver reliable capabilities.
• Maintain API specifications, integration designs, runbooks, and operational documentation; reduce technical debt and improve reliability.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend pragmatic improvements aligned with platform strategy. Education and Work

Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent education and experience consistent with company policy (Required).
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience developing and supporting backend applications, APIs, microservices, or distributed systems (Required).




• Demonstrated ownership of production software, technical design decisions, and complex troubleshooting (Required). Required

Qualifications:
• Solid hands-on Java and Spring Boot experience building production REST APIs and microservices.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, resiliency, asynchronous processing, and API integration.
• Hands-on experience deploying and supporting services on AWS or a comparable cloud platform.
• Experience with SQL databases (such as PostgreSQL or Oracle), plus familiarity with NoSQL technologies.
• Experience with automated testing, Git, CI/CD, code reviews, and secure software delivery.
• Ability to troubleshoot production issues using logs, metrics, and tracing, and drive technical root cause analysis.
• Ability to independently design solutions, explain trade-offs, and provide technical guidance to other engineers. Preferred

Skills:
• FinTech, digital banking, card services, payment processing, transaction reconciliation, or other regulated systems.
• Banking APIs, external payment processors, financial service integrations, and partner coordination. Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS/SNS, event-driven architecture, and distributed transaction patterns.
• AWS Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• ETL or scheduled data-processing workflows; Snowflake or other analytics/data platforms.
• Observability using Splunk, Grafana, Datadog, or OpenTelemetry.
• Security and compliance practices including encryption, tokenization, auditability, and applicable PCI controls.
