Role Description The Fire and Safety Officer is a full-time, in office role based at Neotia Getwel Multispecialty Hospital in Siliguri. The role involves monitoring and maintaining fire safety systems, equipment, and procedures throughout the hospital premises. Responsibilities include conducting regular safety inspections, identifying potential fire hazards, and ensuring compliance with applicable fire and safety regulations and standards. The Fire and Safety Officer will organize and deliver fire safety training and drills for hospital staff, maintain documentation and incident reports, and coordinate with external agencies such as fire services and regulatory bodies when required.



This role also supports emergency preparedness planning and contributes to continuous improvement of safety practices to protect patients, visitors, and team members. Qualifications
• Demonstrated knowledge of fire safety regulations, codes, and standards applicable to healthcare facilities.
• Experience in inspection, maintenance, and operation of fire detection, alarm, suppression, and emergency evacuation systems.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, and recommend practical preventive and corrective measures.
• Skills in planning and delivering fire safety training, drills, and awareness programs for diverse staff groups.
• Strong record-keeping, incident reporting, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and coordination abilities to work with clinical, administrative, and technical teams, as well as external agencies.
• Capacity to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergency situations and high-pressure environments.
• Relevant certification or diploma in fire and safety, industrial safety, or occupational health and safety; hospital or healthcare experience is an advantage.
• Basic computer proficiency for maintaining digital records, reports, and training materials.
• Commitment to ethical conduct, safety culture, and continuous learning in line with organizational policies.
