Sedentary Work Career Level 8IC Position Summary The Senior Information Security Analyst is a highly experienced individual contributor responsible for leading the design, development, and execution of enterprise-wide disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning (BCP) programs. This role serves as a subject matter expert and strategic advisor, partnering with technology, operations, and business leadership to ensure organizational resilience against disruption, cyber events, and catastrophic failures. The incumbent will drive complex, cross-functional DR initiatives from inception through completion, applying deep technical expertise and strategic thinking to safeguard critical systems, data, and operations.
Key Responsibilities
*Disaster Recovery Strategy & Program Leadership
* The Senior Analyst leads the strategic direction of the enterprise disaster recovery program, including the development and continuous refinement of DR frameworks, standards, and governance structures. This individual is accountable for establishing recovery objectives, validating recovery capabilities, and ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. The role requires the ability to operate independently while influencing stakeholders across all levels of the organization without direct authority. *Business Continuity Planning
* The incumbent owns the end-to-end lifecycle of business continuity plans for critical technology and operational functions. This includes conducting and facilitating Business Impact Analyses (BIAs), identifying single points of failure, and partnering with business units to develop, test, and mature continuity strategies. The Senior Analyst ensures that BCP documentation remains current, actionable, and integrated with the broader enterprise risk management framework. *Strategic DR Project Execution
* As a senior-level individual contributor at the 8IC level, this role is expected to lead high-complexity, high-visibility DR transformation and modernization projects. This includes driving cloud-based recovery architectures, automation of failover processes, and the integration of DR capabilities into new technology deployments and M&A; activity. The analyst will define project scope,
engage cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder communications, and deliver measurable outcomes aligned with organizational resilience goals. *Testing, Validation & Continuous Improvement
* The Senior Analyst designs and leads comprehensive DR and BCP test exercises, including tabletop simulations, functional drills, and full failover tests. Following each exercise, the analyst develops detailed after-action reports, identifies gaps, and drives remediation efforts through to closure. A continuous improvement mindset is essential, with the expectation that findings are translated into program enhancements and executive-level reporting. *Risk Assessment & Advisory
* This role provides expert guidance on DR and BCP-related risk assessments, supporting third-party risk reviews, regulatory examinations, and internal audits. The Senior Analyst serves as a trusted advisor to technology and business leadership, clearly articulating risk posture and recovery readiness in both technical and non-technical terms. *Documentation & Compliance
* The incumbent ensures all DR and BCP documentation, run books, and recovery playbooks meet internal policy standards and satisfy applicable regulatory and compliance requirements, including frameworks such as NIST, ISO 22301, FFIEC, and SOC 2. The analyst maintains a comprehensive inventory of critical systems and recovery dependencies, ensuring accuracy and accessibility at all times. Required Qualifications A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is required. A master's degree is preferred. The ideal candidate brings a minimum of eight to ten years of progressive experience in information security, IT risk, or technology resilience, with at least five years of focused experience in disaster recovery and business continuity planning within a complex enterprise environment. Demonstrated experience leading strategic DR projects across distributed, hybrid, and cloud-based environments is essential. The candidate must possess strong knowledge of recovery architecture principles, including replication technologies, failover automation, backup and restore strategies, and recovery site design. Experience within financial services, insurance, or a similarly regulated industry is strongly preferred. Preferred Qualifications Relevant professional certifications such as CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional), MBCI, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent credentials are highly valued. Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, particularly in the context of DR architecture and cloud-native recovery solutions, is a significant advantage. Prior experience supporting regulatory examinations or audit engagements related to business continuity is also preferred. Core Competencies The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive outcomes in a fast-paced environment. Strong executive presence and communication skills are required, as this role regularly engages with senior leadership and external stakeholders. The individual must be a collaborative team player who can also operate with a high degree of autonomy,
taking full ownership of complex workstreams and delivering results without day-to-day direction. *This
