Role Description This is a part time, remote role for a C++ and Unix expert at SSMT Solutions. The role involves designing, developing, and optimizing C++ applications running on Unix-based systems, including writing robust code, implementing system-level features, and troubleshooting performance bottlenecks. Daily tasks include collaborating with other developers, reviewing code, integrating modules, and ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure and deployment pipelines. The expert will also handle debugging and profiling, scripting for automation, and supporting production environments by diagnosing and resolving system-related issues.



Documentation of technical designs and adherence to secure coding and best practices are expected. Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in C++ (modern standards such as C++11 and above), with experience building and maintaining production-grade applications.
- Hands-on expertise with Unix/Linux environments, including shell scripting, process management, file systems, and networking fundamentals.
- Experience with software development tools and workflows, such as version control (Git), build systems (CMake, Make), and debugging/profiling tools (gdb, valgrind).
- Understanding of algorithms, data structures, multithreading, and memory management in systems programming contexts.
- Familiarity with secure coding practices, performance optimization techniques, and troubleshooting complex system-level issues.
- Ability to read and write clear technical documentation and collaborate effectively in distributed teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Previous experience in IT services, SaaS, or product development environments is an advantage.
