Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Technical Director at Taxcart. The Technical Director will oversee software development initiatives, guide technical architecture decisions, and ensure the delivery of robust, scalable tax automation solutions. Daily responsibilities include leading and mentoring engineering teams, setting technical standards and best practices, and coordinating with product and business stakeholders to align technology with company goals. The role also involves managing complex projects, prioritizing technical roadmaps, and fostering innovation through structured research and development activities. The Technical Director will be expected to create clear processes, monitor performance, and support continuous improvement across the technical organization.



Qualifications
- Robust Team Management and Team Leadership skills, with experience building, mentoring, and motivating high-performing technical teams.
- Proficiency in Software Development and technical architecture, with hands-on experience in designing and delivering scalable, secure SaaS or cloud-based solutions.
- Ability to drive structured Research and Development (R&D;) initiatives, evaluate emerging technologies, and translate findings into practical product or platform improvements.
- Demonstrated Project Management skills, including planning, prioritization, risk management, and cross-functional coordination in an agile environment.
- Experience in fintech, tax technology, or complex transactional systems is highly beneficial.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical audiences.
- Proven track record in remote or distributed team environments, with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
