Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrument Commissioning Engineer to lead the commissioning activities for Air Handling Units (AHUs). The candidate will be responsible for verifying electrical installations, integrating control systems, calibrating instrumentation, testing field devices, and optimizing energy efficiency. This role requires close collaboration with project teams, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure the successful commissioning and handover of AHU systems. KEY DRIVERS:
- Electrical System Verification:
- Verify the installation and wiring of power distribution systems and Electronically Commutated (EC) fans, ensuring proper earthing and bonding for system safety and reliability.
- Control System Integration:
- Commission and integrate the Building Management System (BMS) interface, validate control loops, and ensure seamless integration with other HVAC components to optimize overall performance.
- Instrumentation Calibration:
- Calibrate and configure sensors, transmitters, and actuators. Perform loop checks to ensure accurate signal transmission and optimal system functionality.
- Field Devices Testing:
- Inspect and rigorously test instrumentation wiring, actuators, dampers and Pressure Independent Control Valves (PICVs) to confirm proper operation and response to control signals.
- Safety Systems:




- Test and validate the operation of emergency stop circuits, interlocks, overload protection devices, and safety systems, including smoke detectors and fire dampers, to ensure operational safety.
- Troubleshooting:
- Identify and resolve issues related to electrical wiring, control logic, sensor accuracy, and actuator functionality through methodical testing and analysis.
- Documentation:
- Develop and execute detailed commissioning plans, systematically document all test results, and prepare comprehensive as-built documentation for future reference.
- Team Coordination:
- Collaborate closely with project teams, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure seamless commissioning, successful system integration, and effective handover of AHU systems. INCUMBENT PROFILE
- Engineer with 12+ years experience in electrical and instrument commissioning for HVAC / AHUs. Strong understanding of EC fan technology, BMS integration.
- 10-12 years experience in electrical and instrument commissioning for HVAC systems, particularly AHUs.
- Ability to read and understand electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLDs).
- Solid understanding of EC fan technology, BMS integration, and control system loops.
- Experience with instrumentation calibration and field device testing.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and control issues.
