Canadian Intermodal Dispatcher – CN/CP Terminal Experience Required We are a growing Canadian transportation company looking for an experienced Intermodal Dispatcher based in India to manage container drayage operations in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). This position is specifically for someone with hands-on Canadian intermodal dispatch experience. Experience with CN and/or CPKC (CP Rail) terminals in the Toronto/GTA area is required. Responsibilities
- Dispatch owner-operators and drivers for daily container pickups and deliveries.
- Manage CN and CPKC/CP Rail terminal appointments.
- Coordinate container availability, pickups, deliveries and empty returns.
- Monitor Last Free Day (LFD), detention, demurrage and per diem deadlines.
- Coordinate chassis and equipment requirements.
- Communicate directly with drivers and resolve operational issues.
- Plan daily routes and maximize truck utilization.
- Track containers and update dispatch/TMS systems.
- Coordinate with terminals, customers, drivers and other operational contacts.
- Handle appointment changes, delays, terminal issues and other day-to-day intermodal problems.
- Maintain accurate records of loads, appointments and completed moves. Requirements
- 2+ years of Canadian intermodal/drayage dispatch experience preferred.




- Direct experience with CN and/or CPKC terminals in Ontario, Canada.
- Hands-on experience booking or managing terminal appointments.
- Experience with Canadian container pickup and delivery operations.
- Experience dispatching owner-operators or company drivers.
- Strong knowledge of GTA intermodal operations.
- Positive English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make operational decisions.
- Ability to work according to Toronto/Eastern Time (ET). Important – Please Read This is NOT a general truck dispatch position. Candidates with only U.
S. truck dispatch, dry-van dispatch, freight forwarding, or general logistics experience will not be considered unless they also have direct Canadian intermodal/drayage experience. Candidates with actual CN Brampton and/or CPKC Vaughan terminal appointment experience are strongly preferred.

Working Hours
Monday–Friday, working according to Toronto, Ontario Eastern Time. We are looking for someone who can eventually take responsibility for the day-to-day intermodal dispatch operation with minimal supervision.
