Role & responsibilities

- Daily Accounting: Maintain day-to-day accounting entries, including sales, purchases, receipts, payments, and journal vouchers.
- Diamond Stock Records: Maintain accurate records of diamond purchases, sales, stock movement, carat weight, quantity, and valuation.
- Purchase & Sales Invoicing: Prepare and verify invoices for diamond transactions and ensure proper documentation.
- Banking & Reconciliation: Handle bank transactions, bank reconciliation statements (BRS), and payment follow-ups.
- GST & Taxation: Manage GST entries, input tax credit reconciliation, TDS deductions, and coordination for GST returns.
- Import & Export Documentation: Maintain relevant documentation for international diamond transactions, customs, shipping, and foreign currency payments, wherever applicable.
- Debtors & Creditors: Maintain customer and supplier ledgers, monitor outstanding payments, and follow up on receivables and payables.
- Foreign Currency Transactions: Record and reconcile foreign currency transactions and exchange rate differences, where applicable.
- Accounting Software: Maintain accounting records using Tally,



ERP software, or other accounting systems.
- Monthly Reporting: Prepare monthly profit and loss statements, outstanding reports, stock summaries, and other financial reports.
- Audit & Compliance: Maintain supporting documents and coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and management.
- Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of financial records, diamond stock details, customer information, and transaction values.

Preferred candidate profile

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in Tally Prime and MS Excel.
- Knowledge of GST, TDS and bank reconciliation.
- Experience in diamond stock accounting and stock valuation.
- Knowledge of purchase, sales, billing and ledger reconciliation.
- Accuracy in handling high-value transactions.
- Valuable communication, coordination and confidentiality.
- Previous experience in the diamond or jewellery industry preferred.
