1. Job Description

To support the development, formulation, testing and optimization of PVA-based emulsions, PVAc/VAE emulsions and acrylic emulsions for water-based adhesives and related applications, ensuring consistent product quality, performance and process efficiency.

2. Key Responsibilities

- Assist in the development and modification of PVA-based emulsions, PVAc/VAE emulsions, acrylic and styrene-acrylic emulsions.

- Conduct laboratory-scale emulsion polymerization trials under the guidance of senior R&D; personnel.

- Handle raw materials such as vinyl acetate monomer (VAM), acrylic monomers, PVA, surfactants, initiators, protective colloids and functional additives.

- Perform routine testing, including solids content, viscosity, pH, density, particle size, mechanical stability and storage stability.

- Evaluate adhesive performance, including bonding strength, setting time, tack, water resistance and substrate compatibility.

- Support formulation optimization adhesives, construction binders and other water-based adhesive applications.

- Monitor emulsion stability, coagulum formation, foaming, viscosity variation and other product-related issues.

- Maintain laboratory records, formulation sheets, trial reports, test data and sample registers.

3. Required Technical Skills





- Basic understanding of emulsion polymerization and polymer chemistry.

- Familiarity with PVA/PVAc emulsions and acrylic or styrene-acrylic emulsions.

- Knowledge of monomers, initiators, surfactants, protective colloids and additives.

- Practical knowledge of viscosity, pH, solids and stability testing.

- Basic understanding of adhesive performance evaluation and quality control.

- Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and technical report preparation.

4. Preferred Skills

- Hands-on experience with laboratory reactors and controlled monomer feeding.

- Exposure to particle-size analysis, FTIR, DSC or MFFT testing.

- Knowledge of troubleshooting coagulum, poor stability, viscosity drift and low bonding strength.

- Experience in water-based adhesives, paints, coatings or construction chemicals.

5. Candidate Profile

- Practical, analytical and detail-oriented.

- Willing to conduct laboratory experiments and maintain accurate records.

- Valuable observation, problem-solving and communication skills.

- Able to work collaboratively with R&D;, Quality Control and Production teams
