Position: Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy vehicles such as buses, trucks, and commercial vehicles. The candidate should have hands-on experience in mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and repair work on heavy vehicles, including buses, trucks, and commercial vehicles.

Diagnose and troubleshoot engine, transmission, clutch, brake, suspension, steering, and other mechanical issues.

Inspect vehicle components and identify faults using appropriate tools and equipment.

Perform preventive maintenance, servicing, and breakdown repairs.

Assist in the installation, fitting, and maintenance of bus air-conditioning systems wherever required.

Carry out dismantling, assembly, and replacement of mechanical components.

Ensure proper functioning of vehicle systems after repairs.

Follow safety procedures and maintain tools, equipment, and the work area.

Maintain service records and report major technical issues to the supervisor.

Required Skills





Good knowledge of heavy vehicle mechanical systems and troubleshooting.

Hands-on experience in repairing buses, trucks, or other commercial vehicles.

Knowledge of engines, gearboxes, clutches, brakes, suspension, and steering systems.

Ability to use mechanical tools and workshop equipment.

Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures and safety practices.

Ability to identify faults and complete repairs efficiently.

Educational Qualification

ITI in Mechanic Motor Vehicle (MMV), Diesel Mechanic, Automobile, or a related trade preferred.

Relevant hands-on experience in heavy vehicle maintenance is an advantage.

Experience

1-5 years of experience in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair preferred.

Candidates with practical workshop experience may also apply.
