Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with 3-5 years of relevant experience in the manufacturing and/or trading industry. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in managing the complete accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, provisions, reconciliations and month-end closing. The candidate should also have a fair understanding of direct and indirect taxation and be comfortable working with ERP systems, preferably Oracle. The position will be based in Pune and may require occasional travel to the companys plants and other locations across India.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day accounting activities and maintain complete and accurate books of accounts.
- Handle the full accounting cycle, including journal entries, general ledger, reconciliations and month-end closing.
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP), including invoice processing, vendor reconciliations, payment preparation and ageing analysis.
- Manage Accounts Receivable (AR), including customer invoicing, receipts, customer reconciliations and collection follow-up.
- Monitor receivables and payables ageing and highlight overdue balances to management.
- Prepare and post monthly provisions, accruals and other adjusting entries.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual closing and preparation of financial reports and schedules.
- Handle payroll accounting, including salary-related accounting entries and reconciliations.
- Perform regular bank, vendor, customer and general ledger reconciliations.
- Maintain proper supporting documentation and ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
- Assist with statutory audit, tax audit and internal audit requirements.
- Support direct and indirect tax compliance, including GST, TDS and other applicable taxes.
- Maintain appropriate records and documentation for tax and regulatory purposes.
- Assist in inventory and cost accounting activities and reconciliation of inventory-related balances.




- Ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions in the ERP system.
- Work closely with procurement, sales, operations, HR and other departments on accounting-related matters.
- Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting and reconciliation issues on a timely basis.
- Assist management with MIS reports, analysis and other finance-related requirements.
- Undertake occasional visits to company plants and other locations across India as required.

Desired Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Hands-on experience in complete accounting / general ledger accounting.
- Good understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Practical experience in payroll accounting, provisions and accruals.
- Fair knowledge of direct and indirect taxation in India, including GST, TDS and other applicable taxes.
- Experience in manufacturing and/or trading environments is preferred.
- Working experience with an ERP system, preferably Oracle.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and ability to work with accounting data and reports.
- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to plants and other company locations across India.

Qualification & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience in India.
- Experience in a manufacturing or trading company is preferred.
- Candidates with experience handling accounting independently, rather than only in a specialized accounting function, will be preferred.
