Role & responsibilities

Role Overview

We are looking for a Technology Head to lead technology strategy, software engineering, architecture and delivery. The role will combine strong full-stack technical understanding with the ability to lead engineering teams, build scalable and secure systems, and identify opportunities to use AI technologies and workflow automation to improve business efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Architecture

- Define and execute the technology roadmap aligned with business priorities, growth plans and customer requirements.
- Own application architecture, system design, scalability, reliability, performance and long-term maintainability.
- Evaluate build-versus-buy options, manage technical debt and establish engineering standards and development best practices.
- Translate business requirements into practical technical solutions, estimates, delivery plans and measurable outcomes.

Software Development & Engineering

- Provide technical direction across frontend and backend development, APIs, microservices and application integrations.
- Guide development using React (preferred), TypeScript/JavaScript and Python; working knowledge of ASP.NET is an advantage.
- Ensure sound database design, query optimization and data integrity across SQL and NoSQL systems.
- Oversee code reviews, testing, release quality, documentation, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.

Cloud, DevOps & Delivery

- Guide the team on CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, deployment practices, version control and release management.
- Oversee cloud-based solutions on AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform, as applicable.
- Ensure systems are monitored, backed up, secure, resilient and supported by appropriate incident and recovery processes.

AI & Workflow Automation

- Identify and implement suitable AI-enabled solutions and workflow automations that deliver measurable business value.
- Evaluate AI tools, APIs and use cases; guide integration into applications and internal processes.
- Promote responsible use of AI, including data privacy,



access controls, quality checks and human review where required.

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

- Build, mentor and retain a high-performing engineering team; participate in hiring, performance management and capability development.
- Set clear goals, delivery milestones and engineering KPIs; manage priorities, resources, risks and dependencies.
- Collaborate with business and product stakeholders to clarify requirements, communicate progress and manage expectations.
- Coach team members and encourage ownership, accountability, knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

Security, Quality & Governance

- Establish standards for secure coding, testing, code quality, documentation and change management.
- Work with relevant stakeholders to manage access, protect sensitive data and address vulnerabilities and technical risks.
- Ensure systems meet applicable internal policies, contractual requirements and relevant legal/regulatory obligations.

Preferred candidate profile

Required Technical Skills

- Strong full-stack software development background with sound knowledge of frontend and backend systems.
- Frontend: React preferred; TypeScript and JavaScript. Experience with MVC-based frameworks is acceptable.
- Backend: Python, REST APIs and microservices; ASP.NET knowledge is preferred.
- Robust understanding of data structures, algorithms, design patterns and scalable software architecture.
- Database design and optimization across SQL and NoSQL environments.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, deployment pipelines and release management.
- Exposure to AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Understanding of software testing, engineering quality standards, security and production support.
- Hands-on experience or proven implementation exposure to AI technologies and AI-driven workflow automation.

Good to Have

- Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, relational database management systems (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with ASP.NET and modern cloud-native application development.

Experience leading digital transformation, system modernization or enterprise application integration.
