Position Title - Assistant Professor (Sociology)
Department: School of Arts & Humanities
The Candidate is responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses, conducting research, mentoring students, contributing to curriculum development, and participating in departmental and institutional activities. The role requires a strong commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and student success.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, and seminars in School of Arts & Humanities courses.
- Prepare course plans, study materials, assignments, examinations, and assessment tools, curriculum design, revision, and development in line with industry trends and accreditation standards.
- Evaluate student performance, provide feedback, and guide academic projects and internships.
- Adopt innovative teaching methodologies and educational technologies to enhance learning outcomes.
- Conduct research in Sociology and related fields and publish findings in reputed journals and conferences.
- Pursue funded research projects and collaborate with industry and academic partners.
- Mentor students in academic, qualified, and skill-development activities.
- Encourage participation in technical competitions, hackathons, workshops, and research initiatives.
- Participate in departmental administration, accreditation processes, and institutional committees.
- Organise academic events, faculty development programs, seminars, and conferences.
- Support admission, examination, placement, and other academic activities as assigned by the institution.
Required Qualifications
- M.A in Sociology or related discipline.
- UGC Net Qualified.
