Job Summary

As a Senior Java Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend applications. You will work extensively with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture to build robust software solutions.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality applications, troubleshoot production issues, optimize performance, and contribute to technical decisions, code quality, and engineering best practices. This role also offers opportunities to mentor junior developers and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.

What You Will Be Doing

- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using clean coding principles and established design patterns.
- Design and implement efficient database queries, data models, and persistence solutions.
- Write unit and integration tests and contribute to automated testing practices.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and improve application performance and reliability.
- Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and architectural decisions.
- Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, and other developers in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Use Git and Maven for source control and build management.
- Work with Docker and Linux/Unix environments to support application development and deployment.
- Follow secure coding practices and contribute to technical documentation and engineering standards.
- Mentor and guide junior developers, share technical knowledge, and support their professional development.
- Assist the HR and Operations teams with technical issues, troubleshooting, or other technology-related requirements, whenever needed.
- Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as deemed appropriate by the company based on business and project requirements.

What You Need for This Role

- Education:



A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: 5-8 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Java 17 or higher, or equivalent experience with the Java versions used in the project.
- Extensive experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, exception handling, and Java collections.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle, including SQL query optimization.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases where relevant to the application.
- Experience writing unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.
- Proficiency in Git, Maven, and Linux/Unix environments.
- Working knowledge of Docker and containerized application deployment.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and collaborative software development practices.
- Ability to debug complex issues and develop maintainable, production-ready code.

- Good to Have:

- Experience with Apache Kafka or other event-driven messaging systems.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or equivalent platforms.
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
- Exposure to container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or Docker Swarm.
- Knowledge of Bash scripting for automation.
- Experience with application monitoring, logging, performance tuning, and distributed tracing.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
