Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and technically proficient Senior Engineer - New Product Development (NPD) to design and development of SF6-Free / Eco-Friendly Ring Main Units (RMU) and Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) products. This role requires deep expertise in sustainable medium-voltage switchgear technologies, strong product design and engineering capabilities, and proven experience in taking innovative RMU/GIS solutions from concept through development, validation, product release, and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with alternative insulation technologies such as clean air, dry air, vacuum insulation, or eco-gas solutions, along with comprehensive knowledge of MV switchgear standards and type testing requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and develop new SF6- Free MV switchgear products and modify existing designs based on customer requirements, manufacturing needs, or market trends.
- Expertise in Load Break Switch (LBS), Vacuum Interrupter (VI), Shunt VI or Puffer Switching technologies used in SF6-free RMU/GIS products.
- Perform gas system design and pressure calculations for SF6-free RMU/GIS products, including enclosure sizing, pressure rise assessment, sealing concepts, and gas density monitoring with simulation driven validation.
- Ability to demonstrate your experience in designing of Sheet-metal parts, Casting, Forging and machined parts.
- Good knowledge of manufacturing process.
- Design and develop specialized moulded insulation components for SF6-free switchgear product, ensuring dielectric, thermal,



and mechanical performance.
- Create and review detailed design documents, such as Component drgs.(3D model), singleline diagrams, wiring schematics, and panel layouts.
- Perform electrical and mechanical design tasks, including creating detailed models and drawings.
- Conduct electrical calculations for short-circuit, voltage drop, and thermal rating to validate performance and safety. Ensure designs comply with relevant industry and customer standards (e.g., IEC, ANSI, AS).
- Develop test plans for type tests.
- Conduct root cause analysis for test failures and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Provide technical support to customers, manufacturing, procurement, and project teams.
- Contribute to the development of new methodologies and technical roadmaps.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, materials, and technologies.

Required Qualifications:

- Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. M.E. / M. Tech preferred.
- Experience: 8-10 years of experience in the design and development of SF6-Free Medium Voltage Switchgear Products (3.3 kV to 36 kV).
- Software Proficiency: Robust hands-on experience with design and simulation tools such as:
- 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD) o FEA / Structural Analysis (ANSYS, COMSOL)
- Standards Knowledge: Deep familiarity with relevant MV standards such as IEC 62271, IS standards, and other global certifications.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex product development programs.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working across functions and with external partners.
