About the Role

We are hiring a CAD Design Engineer – Autodesk Inventor for an established Australian pumping systems company. This is a senior, hands-on mechanical design role for an Inventor specialist who will own the design team's automation, libraries and drafting standards.

You will handle:

- iLogic automation
- Content Center libraries
- Drafting standards
- Fabricated steel and sheet-metal design

This is not a production drafting role. You will set the templates, libraries and automation the drafters work from and check their drawings against the standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop iLogic rules, forms and configurators for standard pump station, skid and pipework assemblies.
- Generate assemblies and drawings automatically from inputs such as pump model, pipe size and cover type.
- Build and administer Content Center libraries for pipe, flanges, fittings, valves, fasteners and structural sections.
- Set up part properties for accurate BOMs.
- Write and maintain Inventor drafting standards, templates, title blocks, styles, part numbering and file naming.
- Train the drafting team on the standards, libraries and automation.
- Check drawings against the standards before release.
- Design skids, base frames, supports, brackets, platforms and handrails using Frame Generator and weldments.
- Design sheet-metal covers, lids, enclosures, guards and switchboard housings with correct flat patterns.
- Run linear-static stress,



deflection and frame analysis using Inventor Stress Analysis, Frame Analysis or Nastran.
- Document load cases, assumptions and results in calculation notes for engineering review.
- Produce GA and fabrication drawings, BOMs and cut lists for the factory and fabrication partners.
- Model pipework and valve arrangements where required.
- Help plan and set up Autodesk Vault.
- Feed factory, fabricator and site feedback back into templates, libraries and configurators.
- Document the standards, libraries and automation so the team can maintain them.

Essential Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years' design experience with Autodesk Inventor as your main tool.
- At least 4 years designing fabricated steel, stainless steel or sheet-metal products such as skids, frames, supports or enclosures.
- Proven iLogic experience, including rules, forms and parameter-driven assemblies and drawings.
- Experience creating and administering Content Center custom libraries for a team.
- Experience setting up templates, styles and drafting standards for a team.
- Expert Inventor skills in parametric parts, assemblies, Frame Generator, Sheet Metal and drawings.
- Hands-on linear-static FEA on fabricated structures using Inventor Stress Analysis, Frame Analysis, Inventor Nastran or equivalent.




- Strong knowledge of load paths, bolted and welded connections and material selection.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Able to work full-time Australian business hours from India.

Preferred Experience

- Australian or international standards for steelwork and drawings.
- Autodesk Vault setup or administration.
- Pumps, pump stations, water boosters or water and wastewater equipment.
- Tube & Pipe module.
- AutoCAD for legacy 2D drawings.

Working Hours

8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Australian Eastern Time, Monday to Friday
AEST (Apr–Oct): approx. 3:30 AM – 12:30 PM IST
AEDT (Oct–Apr): approx. 2:30 AM – 11:30 AM IST

You must be comfortable working these hours long term.
