Job description

Role:

The Shift Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the assigned outlet during the shift, ensuring excellent customer service, product availability, hygiene, team productivity and adherence to company SOPs. The role will support the Outlet Manager in achieving sales and operational targets.

Responsibilities:

1. Shift Operations: Ensure smooth shift operations, store readiness, timely opening/closing and proper product display.
2. Customer Service: Ensure courteous guest service and resolve customer queries and complaints promptly.
3. Sales & Targets: Support achievement of sales targets through upselling, cross-selling and effective product promotion.
4. POS & Cash Handling: Ensure accurate billing, cash handling, shift-end cash reconciliation and reporting of discrepancies.
5. Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, product availability, receiving, storage and replenishment; minimize wastage and damage.
6. Hygiene & Food Safety: Maintain outlet cleanliness, personal grooming and compliance with food safety standards and company SOPs.
7. Team Management: Allocate duties, monitor attendance and discipline,



guide team members and ensure adequate manpower during the shift.
8. Product Quality: Ensure product freshness, quality, presentation and proper handling; coordinate with the Central Kitchen for replenishment.
9. Reporting & Compliance: Maintain shift checklists, operational records and handover reports, and support audits and corrective actions.
10. Coordination: Support the Outlet Manager in daily operations, employee training and achieving business objectives.

Preferred candidate profile

- Graduate or Diploma in Hospitality, Hotel Management, Retail Management or a relevant field.
- 24 years of experience in retail, QSR, caf, bakery, restaurant or hospitality operations.
- Experience in shift handling, team supervision, POS billing, cash handling and inventory management.
- Basic knowledge of food safety, hygiene and FSSAI requirements.
- Valuable communication, customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Sales-oriented, customer-focused and comfortable working in rotational shifts.
