- Scope: Lead a two-year modernization program for a US standards development and certification organization, defining ownership models, shared domain design, and SQL Server to Azure migration.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
- Master Data & Ownership: Define system-of-record boundaries and secure stakeholder sign-off via RACI/ownership matrices.
- Data Modeling: Create conceptual and logical models from scratch (temporal history, party/role patterns).
- Legacy Decoupling: Reverse-engineer legacy SQL Server environments and apply a strangler-style pattern to split monolithic databases into services.
- Azure Migration: Architect migrations from VMs to Azure managed services (Azure SQL Database,
Managed Instance) with near-zero downtime.
- Client Leadership: Run workshops, present technical models to non-technical stakeholders, and manage alignment.

- SQL Server (2016+): Advanced T-SQL, query performance tuning, partitioning, and security.
