VMC Setter cum Operator

*Designation*: VMC Setter cum Operator

*Experience*: 2 to 5 years

*Qualification*: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Tool & Die

*Location*: Jigani, Bengaluru

*Job Role:*

Responsible for independent setting and operation of VMC machines to produce defence / aerospace precision components as per drawing, ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

*Key Responsibilities:*

- *Machine Setting*: Independent job setting, work holding (vice, fixture, 4th axis), tool setting, work offset / tool offset feeding

- *Programming*: Basic to mid-level knowledge of Fanuc / Siemens controls, G-code / M-code editing, program dry run and first piece approval

- *Operation*: Operate VMC 3-axis / 4-axis, handle tool change, monitor cutting parameters (speed, feed, DOC)

- *Drawing Reading*: Read engineering drawings, GD&T; symbols, understand tolerances up to 0.01 mm

- *Quality*: Use vernier, micrometer,



bore gauge, height gauge for in-process inspection, maintain first piece / last piece inspection reports

- *Tooling*: Select inserts, end mills, drills as per material (Mild Steel, EN series, Aluminium, SS304/316)

- *Documentation*: Fill production log sheet, tool life record, rejection analysis

- *Maintenance*: Daily machine cleaning, coolant level check, preventive maintenance coordination

- *Safety*: Follow 5S, PPE compliance, protected assembly point procedure

*Skills Required:*

- Hands-on with Fanuc / Haas /

- Strong in setting time reduction

- Knowledge of cutting tools and work holding

- Ability to work in shifts

*Preferred*: Experience in Defence / Aerospace components, AS9100 environment.
