Role Description The VoIP Network Engineer is a full-time remote role responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Voice over IP (VoIP) infrastructure and related network systems. Day-to-day tasks include configuring and managing VoIP platforms, monitoring call quality, analyzing network performance, and resolving connectivity and voice issues. The role involves administering network devices, ensuring secure and stable communication paths, applying network security best practices, and documenting configurations and procedures.

The VoIP Network Engineer collaborates with internal teams and clients to gather requirements, recommend technical solutions, and support deployments and upgrades.



This position also requires participation in incident response, root cause analysis, and ongoing optimization of VoIP and network environments.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess skills in Network Engineering and Network Administration for designing, configuring, and supporting LAN/WAN and VoIP infrastructures.
- Candidates should possess skills in Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies, including SIP, RTP, and related protocols, as well as experience with common VoIP platforms or PBX systems.
- Candidates should possess skills in Troubleshooting for diagnosing and resolving network and voice issues using monitoring tools, logs, and systematic analysis.
- Candidates should possess skills in Network Security to implement secure configurations, access controls, and safeguards for voice and data traffic.
- Relevant qualifications include experience in enterprise or service provider environments, familiarity with QoS and traffic prioritization, and exposure to cloud-based telephony solutions.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, Network+, or VoIP-specific credentials are beneficial.
- Strong communication skills, ability to work independently in a remote setting, and effective collaboration with distributed teams are required.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) is preferred.
