Senior Guidewire Test Engineer - Playwright Automation

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Guidewire Test Engineer with robust hands-on expertise in Guidewire application testing and Playwright-based test automation.

The role will deliver high-quality functional and automated testing across Guidewire applications and associated integrations. The successful candidate will work closely with developers, business analysts, product owners and DevOps engineers to ensure reliable releases through effective test design, automation, defect prevention and continuous quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform end-to-end testing across Guidewire Claim Center, PolicyCenter and/or BillingCenter applications.
- Design, develop and maintain scalable automated tests using Playwright with TypeScript and/or JavaScript.
- Build reusable automation components, test utilities, page objects and maintainable regression suites.
- Execute functional, integration, system, regression and end-to-end testing across Guidewire and connected applications.
- Automate critical business journeys and integrate Playwright suites with CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
- Analyse requirements, user stories and solution designs and translate them into effective test scenarios and test cases.
- Validate REST APIs, system integrations,



downstream platforms and data exchanged between applications.
- Identify automation opportunities and continuously improve regression coverage, execution reliability and feedback time.
- Prepare and maintain test data required for functional and automated testing.
- Log, analyse, prioritise, retest and close defects with development and business teams.
- Support release-readiness testing, production validation and post-deployment verification.
- Identify quality risks early and communicate impact, dependencies and mitigation actions to stakeholders.
- Contribute to automation standards, coding practices, peer reviews and reusable quality-engineering frameworks.
- Provide technical guidance to test engineers and promote shift-left testing across the delivery lifecycle.

Qualifications:

- Typically 3-6 years of software testing or quality-engineering experience.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience testing Guidewire InsuranceSuite applications.
- Strong experience developing test automation using Playwright and TypeScript and/or JavaScript.
- Experience testing enterprise applications within Agile delivery and CI/CD environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, collaboration and stakeholder-communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with distributed business and technology teams.
