Senior GoHighLevel Engineer – Dental Practice Automation

About the role

We're hiring a Senior GoHighLevel (GHL) Engineer to own the CRM, SEO and AI automation platform we build for dental practices. You'll design voice and conversation AI, wire GHL to practice management systems like Open Dental and Dentrix, and turn front-desk workflows into reliable automations.

Key responsibilities

Voice AI and Conversation AI

Build and tune GHL Voice AI agents that answer calls, book, confirm and reschedule appointments, and route urgent cases to staff.

Configure Conversation AI bots for SMS, web chat, Facebook, Instagram and Google Business messages.

Write prompts, knowledge bases and guardrails suited to dental offices (insurance questions, new-patient intake, emergencies, after-hours).

Monitor call and chat transcripts, measure booking rates and keep improving responses.

Workflow management

Design GHL workflows for the full patient lifecycle: lead capture, nurture, appointment reminders, no-show recovery, recall and reactivation, reviews and referrals.

Build pipelines, triggers, custom fields, tags and calendars that match how dental front desks actually work.

Document workflows and keep them maintainable across multiple practice sub-accounts.

API integration — Open Dental and Dentrix

Integrate GHL with Open Dental (API) and Dentrix (via Dentrix Developer Program / approved connectors) to sync patients, appointments, providers and operatories.

Build two-way sync using GHL APIs, webhooks and middleware (custom code, Make, Zapier, n8n or similar).

Handle data mapping, deduplication, error handling, retries and logging.

Keep all integrations HIPAA-compliant: BAAs, minimum necessary data, secure storage and access controls.

SEO and CRM platform build in GHL

Stand up GHL agency and sub-accounts as a repeatable CRM product for dental clients,



including snapshots for rapid onboarding.

Build websites, funnels, landing pages, forms and surveys in GHL, optimized for local dental search.

Run local SEO: Google Business Profile, on-page SEO, schema, site speed, citations and review generation.

Set up reporting dashboards and attribution so practices see calls, bookings and revenue by source.

Leadership

Act as technical lead on client accounts and talk directly with practice owners and office managers.

Mentor junior builders and set standards for snapshots, naming, QA and documentation.

Required qualifications

5+ years in software engineering, marketing automation or CRM implementation, with 3+ years hands-on in GoHighLevel.

Proven work with dental practices or DSOs — please share examples of practices you've supported.

Shipped GHL Voice AI and Conversation AI agents in production.

Built integrations with Open Dental and/or Dentrix; comfortable with REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth and JSON.

Coding ability in JavaScript/Node.js or Python for custom middleware and scripts.

Built complete GHL CRM setups: pipelines, workflows, calendars, snapshots and sub-account management.

Track record in local SEO for service businesses, with measurable ranking or lead results.

Working knowledge of HIPAA as it applies to patient data and messaging, plus A2P 10DLC compliance for SMS.

Clear communicator who can explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical practice staff.

Nice to have

GHL certification or experience running a GHL agency / SaaS mode.

Experience with other dental PMS platforms (Eaglesoft, Curve, Denticon) or sync tools like NexHealth, Sikka or Weave.

Experience with outside voice AI platforms (Retell, Vapi, Bland, Synthflow) and LLM prompt engineering.

Google Ads and Meta Ads setup for dental lead generation.

- Experience running a small delivery team or offshore builders.
