About usLea Clothing Co. is a handcraft-forward fashion label known for vibrant embroidery, built over five and a half years into a fast-growing brand. Our second label, Saanjh by Lea, honours the women who first introduce us to traditional clothing. It's inclusive, tailored, hand-embroidered and made in small batches, and it now sells to the South Asian diaspora through pop-ups across the US, with Canada, the UK, the UAE and Australia next and a bridal line on the way.
The roleYou will head our brand and creative department and own how Lea and Saanjh look, sound and feel everywhere: campaigns, shoots, the website, social, ads, packaging and events. You are the founder's creative partner: you set the visual direction, design the work that matters most yourself, and lead a small team and an agency to execute it every day. This is a hands-on leadership role, not a briefing-only one.
What you'll doBrand strategy and identity
- Define and document the positioning, voice and visual identity of both brands — related, but each with its own look — in a brand book used by everyone, inside and outside the company.
- Build each season's brand story with the founder and design team, and turn it into a campaign plan across channels.
Creative and visual direction
- Art-direct every shoot end to end: moodboards, casting, styling, locations, photographer briefs and on-set direction.
- Personally design hero creatives: website banners and collection pages, launch campaigns, lookbooks, email and WhatsApp templates.
- Own the look of the Shopify store, packaging, and event and pop-up visual identity.
- Set quality standards for every image, reel and asset that carries the brand name.
Content and social
- Set the content pillars and monthly calendar for Lea, Saanjh and the founder's personal brand; the executive delivers it.
- Conceive reel and campaign ideas that show our craft: embroidery, karigars and the women who wear us.
Performance creative and agency leadership
- Be the performance agency's single point of contact: brief it with master creatives, approve variants, and run a monthly review of return on ad spend, cost per order and creative fatigue.
- Make sure every ad looks like the brand and is refreshed before it tires.
Influencers, partnerships and collaborations
- Set the creator strategy (who fits each brand, how often, gifting versus paid) and pick the creators the executive manages.
- Find and pitch brand collaborations, press and stockist opportunities with the founder.
- Shape Saanjh's diaspora campaigns and event content for international cities, and the bridal line launch.
Team and budget
- Manage and coach the executive; brief and manage freelancers.
- Own the brand, content and shoot budget, and report monthly on reach, engagement, creator results and creative output.
What success looks like
- By 30 days - Audit of both brands' visual identity, website and social; a 90-day creative plan agreed with the founder; the agency briefing process reset
- By 90 days - Brand books for Lea and Saanjh; one campaign shoot directed; homepage and key collection pages refreshed; the monthly agency review running
- 6 months - Saanjh bridal and international campaigns launched; a steady content and creator rhythm across both brands; a visible lift in brand consistency and engagement
- 12 months - A brand recognised for its look; the department running with little founder involvement in day-to-day execution
What you'll bringMust-haves
- 3-5 years in brand, creative or art direction at a fashion, lifestyle or beauty brand, or at a creative agency with fashion clients.
- A portfolio of campaigns and shoots you led, not just contributed to.
- Hands-on design skill in Figma or Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); you can make the hero creative yourself.
- A sharp eye for styling, colour, typography and photography, and the ability to direct video and reels.
- Working knowledge of how ad creative performs on Meta and Google.
- Experience managing people, freelancers or agencies.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Indian craft, handloom, ethnic wear or bridal.
- Understanding of the South Asian diaspora in the US, Canada or the UK.
- Shopify and email or WhatsApp marketing tools.
- Comfort using AI image and video tools responsibly.
How to apply
- Send your portfolio, three campaigns or shoots you led (with your role in each), and a short note on one thing you would change about Lea's or Saanjh's brand today.
