About the role - Hyderabad: Hybrid Role (4 Days WFO) & Work Timings - 2 PM to 11 PM IST

We are looking for strong, coding-focused SDETs who are passionate about building scalable test automation frameworks and ensuring product quality. This is an engineering-driven role that goes beyond traditional QA, with a strong focus on Python, Golang, API and integration testing, and CI/CD automation.

You will work closely with developers to build robust test infrastructure, validate complex cloud-based systems, and ensure reliable product releases. We value strong problem-solving skills, DSA fundamentals, hands-on coding ability, and an ownership mindset.

About Theom

Theom is revolutionizing how enterprises secure their cloud data. Our AI-driven Data Access Governance and Security platform enables organizations to comprehensively manage, control, and monitor access to sensitive data across major cloud providers.

Theom was founded in 2020 by an experienced team with extensive backgrounds at Google, Yahoo, and Cisco. These security practitioners, who had previously created Tetration Analytics—one of the first Zero Trust cloud security platforms—united their expertise to build cutting-edge solutions for protecting and governing enterprise data in the cloud.

Theom is backed by leading investors who understand the complexity of securing data in the cloud and believe in our innovative approach and track record of execution. Our investors include Microsoft, Databricks, Snowflake, Wing VC, Ridge Ventures, and SentinelOne.

What youʼll do

- Quality That Enterprises Depend On: Our customers trust Theom to protect their most sensitive data across Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS, and beyond, in some of the world’s largest data environments. You’ll make sure every release holds up to that standard.
- Own E2E Test Automation: Design, build, and maintain a Python-based end-to-end framework that reproduces real enterprise workflows at production scale,

so issues get caught before customers ever see them.
- Unit & Integration Testing in Golang: Write and review tests for our Go services, and work with developers to make code testable by design, with high coverage, clean interfaces, and fast, reliable test suites.
- Multi-Cloud Test Environments: Automate provisioning and teardown of realistic test environments and test data, including sensitive data scenarios for classification and access-control features.
- Quality Strategy: Define test plans for new features, identify edge cases and regressions early, and track quality metrics such as flakiness, coverage, and escaped defects.
- CI/CD Ownership: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that run tests on every change, gate releases on quality signals, and support fast, zero-downtime deployments.
- Debug & Triage: Investigate failures across services, pipelines, and cloud environments, isolate root causes, and drive fixes with engineering.
- Innovate with AI: Use AI-assisted workflows and LLMs to speed up test generation, failure analysis, and test data creation.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum 4+ years [4-6 years] of professional experience in software testing, test automation, or software engineering
- Python: Robust proficiency in Python for test automation. Experience with pytest, Playwright or similar frameworks.
- Golang: Hands-on experience writing unit tests in Go using the standard testing package, table-driven tests, and mocking.
- CI/CD:

Proficiency in building and maintaining pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar), including test parallelisation, reporting, and release gating.
- Core Fundamentals: Solid understanding of testing principles (test pyramid, integration vs. E2E, flaky-test management), REST APIs, and distributed systems.
- Modern Development Practices: Experience using, or strong interest in adopting, AI-assisted workflows for coding, debugging, and documentation.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with developers and product teams.
- Ownership & Drive: A quality mindset and the ability to own test infrastructure end-to-end.
