Company Description Masterhooks is a performance-first creative agency that specializes in capturing attention in the critical first seconds of video content. Rather than focusing solely on visual aesthetics, the team analyzes viral mechanics to design content that feels native to platforms and drives measurable conversion. Operating as a creative laboratory based in Los Angeles, Masterhooks tests and refines hooks, formats, and storytelling structures to maximize impact.

The company partners with brands that value data-driven creativity and high-performing digital campaigns.

The role

We make sharp, fact-driven AI and tech videos in the style of Rowan Cheung, Varun Mayya, and Cleo Abram: punchy, clear, and zero fluff. We’re looking for a script writing intern who can learn to turn dense tech and founder stories into scripts that hook in the first line and hold attention until the last second.

What you’ll do

- Write and assist on scripts covering AI, tech, space, energy, and founder/billionaire stories
- Hook the viewer within the first 2–3 seconds
- Work within a tight 100–130 word count, built for 35–40 second videos

- Structure a clean narrative arc with a signature twist before the close
- Write in confident, conversational US English, in your own voice
- Fact-check every claim, name, number, and date before submitting
- Get hands-on feedback and iterate fast

What we’re looking for

- 3+ years of experience in scriptwriting or content writing
- Strong written English and a real interest in scriptwriting or content creation
- Curiosity about AI, tech, and business news
- Comfortable researching and simplifying technical topics
- Sharp attention to factual accuracy
- Able to commit consistent daily/weekly hours

Important: no AI slop

We want scripts that sound like a real person wrote them. Generic, robotic, AI-sounding writing (filler phrases, empty hype, “In today’s quick-paced world...”) won’t make the cut. Every line should be sharp, specific, and in your own voice. If a script reads like it came straight out of ChatGPT, it’s an automatic pass, including for the application test.

Do not forget to include your portfolio in your CV.
