We are looking for a technically strong and detail-oriented QA Engineer to take ownership of product quality for Bondsmart, our digital debt investment platform.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, accuracy, security, and performance of our web applications, backend APIs, database operations, and third-party integrations.

The ideal candidate should have strong manual testing fundamentals, hands-on API testing and SQL skills, and practical exposure to test automation. They should be capable of independently identifying defects, analysing complex business workflows, and working closely with developers and product stakeholders to prevent issues from reaching production.

As a startup operating in the debt investment segment, we are looking for someone who takes ownership, thinks beyond predefined test cases, adapts quickly to changing requirements, and helps establish scalable QA processes as the platform grows.

- Independently verify backend behaviour using database queries rather than relying solely on the user interface.
- Support investigation of production issues by analysing relevant records and identifying data discrepancies.

Fintech &

- Financial Workflow Testing

- Test payment gateway integrations, payment success and failure scenarios, cancellations, delayed payments, and reconciliation workflows.
- Validate investment amounts, bond units, price calculations, applicable charges, rounding, and accrued interest wherever applicable.

- Test scenarios involving payment expiry, delayed webhooks, repeated callbacks, concurrent requests, and duplicate order submissions.
- Ensure transaction records remain consistent across application services and payment providers.
- Test integrations with KYC providers, banking services, exchanges, and other external financial service providers.
- Develop an understanding of fixed-income products, including corporate bonds, NCDs,

government securities, and secondary-market transactions.

- Assist in investigating production issues using logs, monitoring tools, and browser developer tools.
- Work with developers to improve application reliability, data protection, and overall user experience.

Defect Management &

- Release Quality

- Identify, document, prioritise, and track defects using Jira or equivalent tools.
- Provide clear reproduction steps, expected and actual results, severity, business impact, screenshots, and supporting API or database evidence.
- Perform retesting and regression testing after defect resolution.
- Participate in release planning, pre-release validation, smoke testing, and production verification.
- Define release acceptance criteria and communicate quality risks to relevant stakeholders.
- Investigate recurring defects and recommend preventive measures.
- Maintain QA documentation, test reports, and release sign-off records.

Product &

- Business Collaboration

- Work closely with developers, product managers, business teams, and operations to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Identify ambiguities, missing business rules, and potential edge cases before development is completed.
